Hmmm, good stuff and bad stuff:

Good stuff: married 20 years to Big Tex, two wonderful big Apostafests (one in Florida) and lots of little ones, cementing new friendships, watching Jennie and Jackson grow, first Christmas!

Bad stuff: Dad's suicide (that was the big one), Jackson's bronchitis/asthma that landed him in the hospital for Thanksgiving weekend, money anxieties (but that's usual so I'm not sure if it counts), going into menopause (or the beginnings of it -- yuck), depression.

I am, however, a "half full" person, so I choose to look at the positive things this year, learn from the negative, and look forward to 2004.

The world -- well the same as others

    The bad:

    • My cancer scare
    • my health problems that have me using a cane and wheelchair
    • work problems

    The good:

    • my cancer scare turned out to be just a scare
    • getting the anthology published
    • creating the two JWD cookbooks
    • both daughters getting engaged
    • the impending birth of a new grandchild

I'll remember these event's for 2003, for my personal life: I moved "home." Said goodbye to cherished family members. Excitedly awaited the arrival of new family members. Started a decent job. And finally, made my dogs "outside" dogs for good.

I'll remember these event's for 2003, on a national scale: Operation Iraqi Freedom. W's Big Lie to America (WMD in Iraq). The loss of the Space Shuttle Columbia. The end of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. American Idol's showdown between Ruben and Clay. (I know U2K, no idols... whatever.) California's wildfires and their new "Governator!" Saying goodbye to both Johnny Cash and John Ritter. And, 2003 will forever be remembered, by me, as the year America FINALLY got enough of Ben and Jenn!

Yes, I'd concur with JH, meeting many of the people from this forum.

Through rough times, in the end, truth (the real type) does come through.

    Happy New Year 2004.

First year I didn't attend the Memorial. First year to celebrate the 4th of the July. First year to celebrate birthdays and Xmas and not care if a JW found out.

Hopefully moving on with my life.
