Dan/Euph,
I never went to JWZone and only visited it when someone put a link to it here on JWD. I am very happy that you were able to act on your growing convictions so quickly and that you, too, are now

Sounds like Daniel got out of that "Freakin' Lions Den".. alias the J.W.'s.
Daniel, all I can say is ..
GOOD FOR YOU, MAN....
It does my heart glad to hear that one more person has broken completely free of that cult.
all the best .. just....being YOU!!!
sincerely

dustyb... I love that song too, but the Metallica song that really resonated with my JW experience was Unforgiven. I remember listening to lines like "Never free, never me" and "they dedicate their lives to running all of his" and trying to convince myself that, despite my gut reaction, they didn't really apply to me.
Narkissos... I've thought about it. I probably will eventually. But right now, I'm liking my avatar too much to change it.
alias... I'm an INFJ.
TD... thanks! If you haven't already, check out my current website, Sick Transit.
Devon... I didn't choose the theme, it was chosen by Nutrino and Trekker182. In fact, I wasn't even a trekker when I first joined the site, although I was eventually assimilated.
Nelly... *gag* Please don't remind me about that. That was a cover page we used for applications back when we were trying to keep the URL a secret. BTW, whoever it was who applied as Joseph Rutherford, you had me ROFL.
To everyone else, thanks very much for your kind words and good wishes! It's wonderful to be able to share this with you all.
My name is Daniel Glick. And I am free.
Dan, what sweet words to read. Congratulations!
Love,
Robyn
Euph/Dan,
We're glad to have you and your wife here. It is the Watchtower's loss and our gain.
If you are interested in some additional reading, I highly recommend Steve Hassan's book Releasing The Bonds. It will help you and your wife through this tough time and offers advice on how to help loved ones out as well. There is a chapter devoted to dealing with the fear and guilt associated with mind controling groups. It is a very positive book.
BTW, is your brother Jesse still in the JW's or does he have doubts too?

Hi Dan, It's nice that the cat is out of the bag. You don't know me well, but I am not good keeping secrets. I kept yours though.
So, did they officially da or df you? And Piph?
Marilyn
Robyn... thanks!
Devon... wouldn't you know, I have that book checked out from the library right now.
Mulan... thanks for your discretion! Our status is officially undetermined. We are, however, being shunned by everyone except immediate family.
So Euph, forgive my curiousity, but is there any chance others from the Zone will make over the wall? I lurked on the site from time to time and got to like a couple of people through their posts, kind of reminded me of some old JW friends back in the day. It did from time to time appear to me that some were wanting to carry conversations beyond what was allowed and they would catch themselves. It was a pity, and I felt for them.
I always felt the Star Trek emphasis was a safe way for some to release their pent up and frustrated imagination.
Freedom is a nice state, eh?
Be well,
Chris
I wanted to post a picture of us at our first apostafest, but alas, I don't know how to post pictures on this site. But if I could, I would! :)
