GOD TO PAT ROBERTSON: "SHUT UP"
HEAVEN (CT) ? Sources close to God say that the Almighty is ?furious? over reports that He told TV evangelist Pat Robertson that President Bush would be reelected in a ?blowout? in 2004.
?That's absolutely f***ing nuts,? said an archangel who wished not to be identified. ?That guy is f****d in the head if he thinks he heard that.?
When asked if he had a message for Robertson, the archangel replied, ?Yeah. Shut your fat f***ing face, jerky.?
Robertson was quoted in USA Today as saying ?I really believe I'm hearing from the Lord it's going to be like a blowout election in 2004. It's shaping up that way.? But Heavenly prayer records indicate no such contact was made with Robertson. ?Our last contact with that guy was after his buddy Falwell went on Pat's show and blamed single moms for 9/11,? said the archangel. ?It was a pretty short message: don't push your luck. I guess some people never learn.?
God has traditionally refused to officially comment on human affairs, says the archangel. ?He's always figured, y'know, it's all right there in His writings and prophets and everything. But these days, so many people are talking about what He told them and what He wants. We have to frame the message before they do.? Last year Heaven opened a press office, for issuing rebuttals and other official statements, and plans a weblog for later this year.
The archangel said God was considering legal action against Robertson's conservative TV empire if his claims continued. ?Or we could send sun flares to knock his satellite out... we're leaving all options on the table.?
A Robertson spokesman said Robertson had come down with an unexpected bout of diahrrea just after the 700 Club broadcast and was unavailable for comment.
