I must admit I was always treated as the weak one, the one who hardly comes to meetings, one not to associate with too heavily.. I can't say I could blend very well.. sometimes they acted like they didn't hardly remember who I was.

The best revenge is to live a happy life.

I agree with that - which goes along with what ol' Met is preaching - show your happiness.

True, they may talk about you behind your back (and many jw's do just that) - but the happy person has shown proof that leaving the WT organization doesn't automatically cause deep depression.

And that's a powerful, unspoken, statement to closed minded jw's who would never listen to apostate statements.

    Thanks, Met!

Great post metatron. It's easy to fall into the trap of viewing JW's as brainwashed idiots, beneath contempt. Kindness is what they need, just like everybody else.

Despite increasing doubts over the last few years, I truly believe that LOVE indeed does cover a multitude of sins -- good post

Excellent strategy Metatron. I might just use it. I have met a few grand old mamma witnesses now. Some of these ladies would be lost outside of the structure the WTBTS has given them. Why upset their apple cart?

Gently Feral, you expressed a thought I have had for a long time, but never expressed as well as you did:

I'd already come to feel that "the social element" was also a vital function of congregational life, and that by staying away altogether she was depriving the church of her personality.

That about sums up why I still enjoy going to a church.
