Hi, COMF:
Me? "Butt heads" --was the pun intended? LOL -- with Norm and JH? Nahhh! They're too smart!
(Here I thought I was known more for getting into it with trinitarian revivalists.)

Norm,
Are you vying for Fred's Horses Ass Award.
Amazing,
I don't know if I am going or not. I usually don't decide anything until three days before a deadline. Not too good at long term planning. I think there are some posters here from Toronto. I wondered it they might be going?
scorpion,
no he's NOT-he's a brilliant debater. And if you knew what comf was talkin about, you'd take that assanine comment back.Tina
Amazing
Just curious but I thought (from the gists of your posts) that you are an Atheist so why are you attending the BRCI conference? :-)

Hi, Tina:
I think Scorpian was referring to Norm's own post a little higher up, not COMF's post to me. (Just a guess)
Also, I'm hoping AMAZING will see the question to him from Uncle Onion. (It's my impression that AMAZING is liberal Christian.)
ack ros,lol
Apologies,I meant to address scorpion regarding Norm,,,,,,,,flips down another "whoops' card on the table of life,Thanks ros! Regards,Tina
Ros,
Based on my conversations with Amazing at last year's BRCI, and a subsequent breakfast together, I would agree with you: he is a liberal Christian. BTW, I'll be at BRCI again this year. Wouldn't miss getting together with all the old ex-Bethelites. Sorry you'll miss it. We'll raise a toast to you!
Cheers!
RW
I had the pleasure of attending the conference last year, when it was in Chicago. I didn't know what to expect....started having those 'district convention flashbacks', but it was very informal and nice. I got to meet some of the people I had met online....I even say a family from my old circuit, who had happened to come to the conference on a lark, as well as some attendees who even remembered my parents. It was a very pleasant gathering....not 'preachy'...I mainly went for the social aspects and was so glad I did. The group who are involved in this seem to be very caring, level headed people. And I didn't even get hit by a bolt of lightning for attending.....like I would have thought could happen when I was still a JW!! :-)
Even if you aren't a Christian, I would think that it would be nice to meet others who can relate to some of things we may feel or have experienced.
(I meet both Ros and RationalWitness there..."HI" to you both!!)
Tina,
ros is right. I addressed my post to Norm. Maybe he was joking in his post about BRCI and I did not realize it. ??
I have received many of Ron Frye's Christian Respondants when he used to write them as well as the BRCI Quaterly. I used to make several copies of Frye's respondants and send them to many active and not so active JWs. BRCI does a great service as well as a few other outreaches and ministries that reach out to the cults.
There was a Conference held at Pinecrest California, Chinquapin Christian Conference Center (Yosemite area) last week put on by Reveal Ministries. Dan Hall was in charge of the arrangements. He spoke at a BRCI conference a few years ago from what I remember. Dan and those associated with him are helping many out of the WT.
