Yes I saw that. I don’t have any reason to doubt it.
It’s similar to other JW sisters I know who delayed baptism into their 40s, and had families and careers in the meantime. Although she is famous, wealthy, and has had a stellar sports career, she is perhaps similar in many ways to ordinary JWs who only decide to get serious about the religion in mid life. Cynics, inside, as well outside the JWs, might describe that as having your cake and eating it — enjoying youth without the threat of disfellowshipping, and only getting baptised when ready to ‘settle down’. We all make our choices. Serena Williams, and others who choose to get baptised in mid life, clearly see benefit for themselves in joining the community fully at that stage. People in that position sometimes make comments like: “I’ve seen what the world has to offer and it’s nothing compared to the truth”. I wouldn’t begrudge her, or others in her position, if that’s how they see it.

Will she change her clothing choices now? I once sent a pic of her to a jw and they accused me of sending them porn! it was a shot of her in a see-through dress.

SBF yes I was thinking the same thing, after she never gets baptized for years so can't get shunned while pursuing a career, having a child before marriage, doing a nude photo shoot etc. - gets things in life out of the way and then gets baptized. Seems all too convenient. I'm not condemning her for the previous things, it's just the hypocrisy that gets me. (Reminds me of a certain Norm Macdonald routine 😆)

So where's the photographs of all the other people who were baptized at the JW pool?
I mean we read in James about not showing favouritism to the wealthy people over the poor ones.
Not that I ever saw evidence of it in our previous congregation since those with the riches and lifestyle seemed to get congregation positions bestowed upon them a lot faster than the hardworking blue collar folk.
