Since being a JW focused on handing out magazines etc. etc. and basically being a drone, my talents remained hidden until I was able to express myself and be an individual (gasp! horror!) when I left.

I daydreamed through thousnd of hours of meetings and assemblies. Because of that I have a very well-developed imagination. I can slip into daydream mode and keep myself entertained through any needless staff meeting now. Because of those daydreams, I often am able to mentally remove myself from uncomfortable or painful situations. That's a pretty cool hidden talent I developed.

Public speaking and teaching. I was always told I was a natural at both and never knew it before the troof. I am just sitting here, waiting here for uni offers to be posted to see if I got into teaching (adult education). I wonder if I never went in the troof if I would of found that out?
Sarcastically I reckon I learnt how to ignore people very fantasitcally, how to give someone the cold shoulder with conviction, how to say one thing and then do the total opposite....deliberatley. How to fudge statistics and reports without feeling guilty.

Let me see... oh yeah I practised the usage of theocratic guilt tripping my friends. I learned to quote the WTS to make others miserable. I guess that's not a hidden talent, not really.

and because of the sheer boredom of being a JW I learned to knit, sew, crochet, do macrame, make preserves and can my own vegetables to keep my mind busy always learning new things. Think I would be brain-dead if I couldn't be busy learning new things.
