"Who really is the faithful and discreet slave"?
The Watchtower has taken a simple scripture and twisted it into a convoluted mess to support their cult.
Jesus was telling individuals to examine themselves, by asking "Who really is the faithful and discreet slave?"
By asking the question that way, he WAS NOT TELLING THEM to exalt themselves with the self appointed judgement,
"Look at me! You must obey me! I'm a faithful slave appointed to rule over you!" - THAT ISN'T THE POINT! This
is further shown by the warned possibility of becoming an "evil slave".
Secondly, what are the qualifications of the "faithful and discreet slave"? DUH! The qualifications are to be FAITHFUL
AND DISCREET!!!!!!! - that's what Jesus wanted. So, are only 8000 mostly elderly geezers ( probably just a handful) the ONLY FAITHFUL
AND DISCREET PEOPLE ON EARTH?? Are all others - like members of the "great crowd" - really unfaithful and foolish?
Hasn't the Society admitted ( parable of sheep and goats) that Christ's "arrival" is at the Great Tribulation? That anyone
appointed to teaching before then should be faithful and discreet? Isn't it obvious that "non-anointed" are running the
organization?
Do any of you lurkers see how stupid this line of reasoning becomes? Isn't it clear that Jesus was simply trying to
encourage all disciples to be faithful and wise?
But wait, that's not all!
Who is this theoretical "faithful and discreet slave " that the Watchtower brags about? What are their names?
Does their faithfulness include false prophecy and false expectations? Is it discreet to cover up child sexual abuse
as they have done? Isn't it obvious that men like Rutherford and Knorr largely ran the organization WITHOUT POLLING
various "members of the anointed"? That Rutherford fired any directors he didn't like?
How can one religion - greedy for control - take a simple scripture and twist it into a method of cultish dominance?
