The "Faithful Slave" is Nonsense, Lurkers!

"Who really is the faithful and discreet slave"?

The Watchtower has taken a simple scripture and twisted it into a convoluted mess to support their cult.

Jesus was telling individuals to examine themselves, by asking "Who really is the faithful and discreet slave?"

By asking the question that way, he WAS NOT TELLING THEM to exalt themselves with the self appointed judgement,

"Look at me! You must obey me! I'm a faithful slave appointed to rule over you!" - THAT ISN'T THE POINT! This

is further shown by the warned possibility of becoming an "evil slave".

Secondly, what are the qualifications of the "faithful and discreet slave"? DUH! The qualifications are to be FAITHFUL

AND DISCREET!!!!!!! - that's what Jesus wanted. So, are only 8000 mostly elderly geezers ( probably just a handful) the ONLY FAITHFUL

AND DISCREET PEOPLE ON EARTH?? Are all others - like members of the "great crowd" - really unfaithful and foolish?

Hasn't the Society admitted ( parable of sheep and goats) that Christ's "arrival" is at the Great Tribulation? That anyone

appointed to teaching before then should be faithful and discreet? Isn't it obvious that "non-anointed" are running the

    organization?

Do any of you lurkers see how stupid this line of reasoning becomes? Isn't it clear that Jesus was simply trying to

encourage all disciples to be faithful and wise?

    But wait, that's not all!

Who is this theoretical "faithful and discreet slave " that the Watchtower brags about? What are their names?

Does their faithfulness include false prophecy and false expectations? Is it discreet to cover up child sexual abuse

as they have done? Isn't it obvious that men like Rutherford and Knorr largely ran the organization WITHOUT POLLING

various "members of the anointed"? That Rutherford fired any directors he didn't like?

How can one religion - greedy for control - take a simple scripture and twist it into a method of cultish dominance?

No problem - I just get disgusted with the breathtaking lack of reasoning that is vital to 'faithful' Witness life.

I once had to investigate a technical problem at work involving the observations of a young woman. You'd think I was

torturing her by forcing her to reason. From this incident, I learned that thinking is, in fact, painful for many

people - that seems to be a fertile field for the Watchtower, Inc.

    Metatron,

    My favourite subject, the FDS!

This is the one that gets dubs out when they realise that there is no Basis for Belief.

Not only was the parable just a parable, but there is no way of linking the FDS to the 144,000.

    Try it!

Faithful and discrete slave. Now that phrase brings back some memories for certain. As with so many other phrases in that book of books, the bible. So much taken out of context...

Maybe it simply just means that the "faithful and discrete slave" is the Soul as it resides within the host body. The Soul in each one of us, separate in form, connected to the One Source of all life in faithfulness; present in us discretely, to experience human life through us over eons of time.

The Soul is a slave to the host as long as it continues to reside in the body.

I liked Ray Franz's brilliant expose on this...how other parallel accounts of slaves are always speaking of individuals, and how there is no evil slave 'class', so why does the society insist that 12 men at Brooklyn are the mouthpiece of some nebulous 'class' out there? There scriptural reasoning is highly dubious.

Jesus said to Peter, 'feed my little sheep', and that is a responsibility of all christians, whether claiming to be born again or not.

    Excellent work metatron.

But of course. After all, only baptized JWs are any good. Everyone else is evil, selfish, promiscuous, and a bunch of no-good-dirty-rotten sons of a gun. Right? Isn't that how the typical dub thinks?

In other words, dubs have many misconceptions when it comes to generalizing people. They tend to put people in black and white groups, but it doesn't work that way.
