Based on my experience in various B of Es, sadly a document such as this would produce a good laugh among the elders.

They would then simply make the announcement that you were no longer a Witness. If there were any complaints they would just say that they had been obliged to inform the congregation of your decision and any steps of shunning you were their own choice. ( That's a lie we know but still.....)

Just a thought...didnt the WT society come up up with some nonsense recently that they don’t have “members “, just individuals. How can you quit something you aren’t a member of?

    BluesBrother-

From your years as an elder, what was the elders response to a letter of resignation? did it trigger a commitee?

Was there an announcement? and was that announcement to complete/enact a disfellowshipping?

Just out of curiosity what happens when you get in a dust up with an elder pull out this document and tell him he has no authority over you. His reaction is to pull out his own copy and say that you have no authority over him and he's exercising his freedom of religion to show you the door?

Cults exist in their own world with their own rules. They don't care about yours. This is just another attempt at circumventing cult rules that means nothing.

A Christian has to have freedom of speech - I am not sure if it really extends to others. I know the right to freedom of speech is bandied around and falls flat on its face before political correctness. But Christian freedom of speech does not because if you prevent Christians from having freedom of speech you attack their religion which is politically incorrect.

(Hebrews 3:6) . . .but Christ [was faithful] as a Son over the house of that One. We are the house of that One, if we make fast our hold on our freeness of speech and our boasting over the hope firm to the end. . .

So Watchtower attack Christian freedom of speech. I managed to silence an elder with that one, I looked him in the face and asked if he was calling Jesus and apostate. He was about to say YES. Instead he gagged. That's how you shut them up.

Other from my ex-cong have been causing deafening silences amongst the elders. Impressive work is being done.

Wait, you print it off and keep it in a drawer?

And you think that accomplishes anything more than wasting some toner and a sheet of paper?

This is 100% pure idiotic bunkum.

I can picture some comedy sketch with someone running down the street after someone, waving their "secret letter" and shouting "wait, wait, you can't do that ... I have in my hand MY SECRET LETTER SEE!"

    Ecclesiastical Authority-

All committees are convened under WTs' directions and by elders' execution, so they are (as intended) expressions of ecclesiastic authority. They even form a committee (non-judicial) to react to 'Letters of Disassociation'.l

We want to have exercised our right to Freedoms Conscience & Religion BEFORE they are aware.

We have specifically invoked freedoms guaranteed under the Constitution.

We did it peacefully, quietly, without disrupting their practices. (So peacefully they were unaware)

We (Constitutionally) repudiated the authority of all church law and all elder committees.

They have no authority over us from that point forward.

Courts don't care at all about church law UNTIL it violates Constitutional law -then they must care.

JWs have demanded their freedoms many times - and got them - access to your door, conscientious objectors, no blood, charity status, etc

We don't need to demand our right to Religous Freedoms we need to exercise the rights we already have.

Watchtower can and will ignore our declared right (to be Freedom from them).

They will convene committees and announce names, as if we had not repudiated those very actions of authority.. They will do this as if we were still their dopey sheep well after the date we repudiated their law and authority.

Each instance of applying their congregations' authority to a self-emancipated nonmember is an indicator of their contempt for the constitutional rights of others.

It will come back to bite them

If you don't believe that the Elders™ have any Authority™ over you, then why even bother with a letter?

Do you write a letter to the school yard bully who took your lunch money too?

    simon -

Strange that you can picture a comedy sketch, but you can't possibly picture a dignified, irrefutable way to extricate yourself quietly and quickly from the authority of a family destroying c--t.
