It is jawdropping.
In the old days, if JWs needed a Kingdom Hall or Assembly Hall, they saved up, then banded together and built it. Now with centralized control of Kingdom Hall properties, this is impossible.
This is outright theft. Of course, I'm sure Watchtower has legal tricks up its sleeve to get away with it.
Wait till these crooks disappear "in the twinkling of an eye" (to the Cayman Islands).

They also pulled a similar stunt in mexico and Columbia in Latin America. I also know of a KH in Australia were they done the same thing. They are obviously not concerned in keeping their members happy.
What were they planning to build there? 75 acres is a LOT of land. Smells like a speculative deal to me. I'd be interested in hearing what they sold it for.
So the 3.5 million is gone. Do you have any idea what they will be selling the property for?

A long while back we donated and donated and donated to the Conyers Assembly Hall... (Atlanta, GA) I remember the horrible disappointment at how UGLY the "new design" was, and how we had ZERO say over how it looked although it was OUR MONEY and OUR LABOR that built the damn thing! Once again, we were told to just SHUT UP and OBEY. Good times...
Hopefully these kind of things will continue to help wake up reasoning JWs. It only takes one thing to drive them to sit down at their computer and Google. Once that Pandora's Box is opened, there is no going back.
Hopefully this is one of those things for many in the Atlanta area.
