I remember this old fart he used to begin his prayer with saying good morning Jehovah, or Good night Jehovah, Good after noon Jehovah, so on and so on....

I never could stand it when some old fart would give a long drawn out prayer after an assembley it made me want to puke, so self rightious.

CORRUPTION & LIES Everyday I see your face splattered all over the press And on the TV screen You stare at me accussingly as if I were a thief Or some kind of freak But to me you?re just a hypocrite, a fuckin piece of shit is all you are to me

I see through all the corruption and lies? Arrogant deceiver of fools, making up your own rules As you go along You scapegoat the blame for your deeds of shame On an innocent pawn You?ve been around for years, you bore me to tears When I hear your words I yawn

Chorus: I see through all the corruption and lies No need to argue I penetrate your disguise Money and power is all that you crave You act like a God and send men to their grave

In scripture Jesus never once used the name Jehovah or Yahweh when praying to God, his Father....he always used the term Father, which highlighted the intimate father-son relationship they had. Even in the model prayer he used the expression Father (wherein he says 'sanctify your name'). Your own children don't call you by your first name, but rather 'mother' don't they? As Christ is our exemplar we should be imitating him thus JW's are wrong to refrain from using the term Father and constantly using the name Jehovah. It's ok to use Jehovah, but the majority of times it should be Father if they are to follow Jesus example, yet JW's have it all the wrong way around. And not only that they say 'Jehovah God'. Why tack 'God' on the end? It is childish, like saying 'God God', similar to saying 'moo cow' or 'pussy cat'.

I would not say it common but it's certainly not unheard of, I have said several prayers over the last few years even at bookstudies and never said Jehovah. While going through my doubting and exploration stage I've found it difficult to actually say anything other then heavenly father or sumpin like that.

Wouldn't addressing God as Heavenly Father mean she was a child/son of God

As other sheep wouldn't it be more appropriate to address God as "Heavenly Friend" since they are only friends of God at this time?
