Followers of the Baptist, Catholic, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mennonites, and Quaker religions are some of the different Christian denominations who will call Natura home.

What the hell? Not only can I not imagine the JWs going for anything like this, but the Watchtower explicitly condemns nudism. (w62 5/15 320)

Go to the beaches of Spain or Spanish Islands or Greek Islands --full of nudists who also claim to be christian

When i said wrong, i meant the picture, not the story. I don't really care who goes there. But the picture, OMG reminds me of the scene I'd see in the showers at a health club

(sigh) (Asleif puts on her "nudist education" cap) (note - as I re-read it, this post sounds harsh, but it was meant to be rather philosophical - I'm not meaning to attack you, just to make you think)

That's very judgemental of you. The whole point is that we should be comfortable with our own bodies, and the bodies of others. We're all imperfect.

So, you're telling me that you support the right of attractive young people to parade around in front of you naked, but you don't want to see people you consider unattractive naked?

Oh, really? How about unattractive people with clothes on?? Should those who society deems 'not good-looking enough' just stay home and not offend people? Maybe fat people or bald people or old people or people with disfiguring scars or who are just ugly should not go out in public, just so people don't have to be disturbed by the sight of them. Or hey, maybe ugly people could wear those Muslim thingys that cover you from head to toe.

The point is...for most of us (outside of the locker room at the gym, and maybe not even then), the only people outside of our family that we see naked are Hollywood stars and Playmates. Our standards for who "should" be naked in public are usually set by that. And we feel horribly unconfident and inadequate that we're not "good" enough to be nude in public.

Well, that's crap. Most of us look more alike with our clothes off than with our clothes on.

There's no more reason to cover the rest of our bodies in public than there is to cover our faces.

And when you're at a nudist resort or other get-together, it's not that big a deal. You're not constantly judging others by their attractiveness quotient. You're just visiting and getting to know them and having a good time. Or soaking in the hot tub or snoozing in the sun.

    So there

When you go to a nudist colony, are you allowed to wear those mirrored sunglasses?

You aren't allowed to bring cameras without approval...as for mirrors... I haven't seen many mirrored sunglasses, but I'm assuming that's because it's no longer the 70's.

If you are not, is it improper not to make eye contact with the person you are talking to?

It's about the same as when you're talking to someone who has clothes on. As I repeat...it's not about ogling. You get over it after a little while. One guy with genital piercings (not the norm for conservative retirees) talked to us about them, but that was only after one of the other guys asked about them first ("Didn't that hurt??? ")

When someone asks you to rub suntan lotion on them, does that mean everywhere?

In my experience, people only ask you to rub suntan lotion if they know you very well, and then it's just on areas they can't reach...like the middle of your back.

    silly thing

I guess this was my attempt to post something on a lighter note and to avoid 'thinking'.

I could have put more thought into the post seeing that someone may be offended, sorry

I'll leave the post as i originally intended it because i hope it is seen as something light hearteded and was not meant to offend.

Reminded my of a 'Mad TV' skit or something on that vein

Some got it, some didn't. Sorry to those that didn't

Oh shoot. I'm not mad. I know you were just trying to be funny...but it just buggs me when people think nudism is just about seeing hot chicks naked, and that it's OK to poke fun at 'unattractive' people who are naked.

See, that's cause I'm overweight, and it took years for hubby to convince me that it was ok for me to go to nudist things...literally...years...society had brainwashed me into thinking I had to look like Brittany Spears or something, before it was ok for me to be naked.

I was afraid I'd gross people out, or scar the children or something

I found out that nobody has a perfect body, and that we shouldn't be so self-conscious about it. And nudists aren't (the vast majority)

Sorry I ruined your fun, but this is a sore spot with me. Every time somebody makes a 'crack' about unattractive nudists, all the old fears and insecurities come back and I have to beat them off with the nearest stick - don't make it be yours!

See. There's a reason my husband refers to me as "The Buzzkill"
