In third grade this great big kid said he was going to beat me up..so I prayed to the Lord, and he told me to go the creek and gather 5 smooth stones.. Just kidding, never had a problem with this, but I'm not a really small guy either.. Huxley

Can't say I was ever beaten up but there were quite a few dub's I would have like to beat up. Does that count???

I really wish I kicked my PO's ass.

I got cornered in the school bathroom a couple of times by some righteous Baptist bitches. I finally had enough and scrapped back. Word got around and nobody bothered me anymore. Heh, there's nothing quite like the look on a gal's face (who is taller and out weighs you by 40 lbs) while you are whipping her ass. "Shock and awe" comes to mind....

I was bothered by a few guys who thought they were tuff shit. My reaction to them was to not have a reaction. I think that egged them on. I also had my best friend who was also a JW looking out for me. And he really can kick ass.

When I was 6, my dad was transferred to small mining community in NWO, population 3000.

The town was predominately french catholic and there was only 1 school.

For the first year and a half I was the school punching bag. I lost count of how many times I came home from school, bloodied and bruised. Do you remember Dwarf tossing? I was the precursor for that. Favourite winter pastime for the bullies was to see how far they could toss me into a snowbank. And of course being a JW and never encouraged to "fight", I just came to accept it, but I did become a very fast sprinter.

In the second year, another JW family moved in, and the youngest son, was a huge kid for his age, and took no shit from anyone. Once it became known that we were "friends", the beatings and bullying ended immediately. My prayers were answered. LOL

The same situation started up again in my first year of high school. However I had figured out by then, how well the "bodyguard" system worked. I befreinded an older student, who I helped tutor in math and english. He was 18, drove to school in a kick ass motorcycle, had been in trouble with the law, and had a reputation as a mean SOB. Once word got out we were freinds, it was smooth sailing after that.

Funny thing about him though, he was actually one of the nicest, sincere and honest people, I ever hung around with in high school. I even witnessed to him and he would take publications. Never judge a book by it's cover, sure applied to him.

the one positive thing my father did for me was give me a 'take no shit' attitude. I have NEVER turned the other cheek, the fact that I played rugby and was a seriously pissed off prop forward helped.

No physical beatings, but threatened several times. The most memorable was in my hometown when a friend and I were going door-to-door. Someone sicked two dogs on us, but thank God they had muzzles on. Sure scared us good though.

Fortunately, I was never beaten up for my belief system. However, back in grade eleven of high school, as always I stood for the pledge, but didn't cross my hand over my heart or say the pledge. Next thing I know, I am slammed really hard in the back...It came so suddenly that I could hardly catch my breath and was nearly knocked to the floor. The classroom gasped in shock.

A male classmate in home room decided to show his disdane at my lack of patriotism in a most immature way. The teacher hauled him out of the classroom. I always really wondered what made him do that, as usually he was the class clown and not a mean person.

He apologized to me profusely later on, and that was the end of it.

I'm with Satanslittlehelper. When you play tough sports, you don't take crap. My late brother was a professional boxer and we had our share of matches.
