Jehovah`s Christian Witnesses , as they like to be known as , used to worship Jesus in earlier times ,but now they do not worship Jesus . . they worship a God named Jehovah , who they admitted in the first edition of " Aid To Bible Understanding " was not the correct pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton `s four letter Hebrew letters that represented God` name , by the way , a Catholic Monk of the 13th Century came up with Jehovah by just adding a couple of vowels.

to those four Hebrew letters .Which has since been revised to correctly translate the Tetragrammaton as YHWH and many scholars put this name more accurately as Yahweh or something more similar.

Fact 1 . The Tetragrammaton does not appear in the " Kingdom Interlinear Of Christian Greek Scriptures " printed by the WTB&TS , a word for word translation of the Greek scriptures. So the name Jehovah does not belong their .

Fact 2 . The Christian Greek Scriptures have over 30 references of either , worshiping , or doing obeisance ,to Jesus Christ as the Saviour of the world. , Every knee , either in heaven , on earth , or under the earth , would bow to Jesus Christ.....

Jehovah`s name or the Tetragrammaton does not even appear in the Christian Greek Scriptures according to the WTB&TS and certainly no instructions to worship him

Their is no such scripture in the Christian Greek Scriptures that says we should worship anybody by the name Jehovah , or give allegiance to him.

    Isa.43:10-12

Was given to the nation of Israel , did they from that moment on call themselves Jehovah`s Witnesses ? No of course not , because that wasn`t the intent , if it was God would have dealt with them for disobeying him

It is not necessary to believe in “God to be a good person. In a way the traditional notion of God is outdated. One can be spiritual but not, religious ... Some of the best people in history did not believe in God, while some of the worst deeds were committed in His name.“—Pope Francis (https://in.pinterest.com/dottieg/pope-francis/)

This is in line with Jesus’s famous statement of what is required to receive eternal life, as found in Mathew 25:31-40 where he said what is needed is compassionate love towards fellow humans, not worship of God which the real God find it meaningless. God would view His children living in compassionate love as the real worship.

The Greek word proskyneō is liberally translated as "worship" in almost all verses by most translations - including the RNWT. However, Strong's Greek Lexicon defines the meaning of the word in these terms -

"To kiss the hand to (towards) one, in token of reverence among the Orientals, esp. the Persians, to fall upon the knees and touch the ground with the forehead as an expression of profound reverence in the NT by kneeling or prostration to do homage (to one) or make obeisance, whether in order to express respect or to make supplication; used of *homage shown to men and beings of superior rank; to the Jewish high priests; to God to Christ; to heavenly beings; to demons."https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=G4352&t=KJV

*These definitions would logically apply to the apostle John's reaction to angel at Revelation 22:8 - where the RNWT falsely says that John worshipped the angel. No Christian would give worship to anyone but God - obeisance yes, worship, no!

Sorry WTBTS - plagiarising "Christendom's" translations merely muddies the waters.

    From a biblical standpoint:

Jesus said to Worship God. Jesus being Jewish would never espouse anything different as to worship.

One bows before a King and pays tribute. Jesus is the (appointed) King. You don't worship kings/ high priests.

In the case of Jesus, Christians are supposed to pay tribute by proclaiming Christ because he was found deserving to be King by his actions. Guy was fixing serious medical conditions, getting rid of spookies, feeding the masses, and making wine ... did i forget making wine, for FREE! Then the King gives his life to get rid of sin & death for his prospective future subjects and friends. Oh, and he only has two laws.

It is God's will that Jesus name be praised and his actions talked about. His son did good. That way people have an idea of what the kingdom would be like under Jesus' Kingship and decide whether they'd like to be there or not.

    JWs missed that boat.

How can you answer this question Smiddy if you don't believe the Bible to be God's doing in the first place?

I don't believe the early Christians we're ever worshipping the father god the Creator. They we're worshipping this new god that was exalted to the highest place for his act of sacrifice. He becomes the alpha and omega, lord or lords king of kings. This is a throw back to Marduk or Hadad, they did the same conguered death and evil and became in doing so the top God of their Pantheon.

Smiddy, just wondering if you think a Catholic Monk of the 13th Century came up with the names Jehoshua, Jehoshaphat, and Zechariah???
