Rutherford wrote in 1925 "Millions NOW living will never die"...they died.

He also promised that Moses and David and all the old bible heroes would live with him in his mansion. Only he lived there till he died in 1942...100 years and not much changed.

Fifty years on, also, from 1975 - another date they affixed great importance to. (With identical results to their 1925 prediction).

No more, in '34...my husband made that up. 1914 + 120 year warning to the people before the flood, 2034, 10 years...just a joke.

    I brought this up in 2004, https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/65453/comments-you-will-hear-1-25-04-wt-study

    Only 120 years

more and Jehovah would bring "the deluge of waters upon the earth to bring to ruin all flesh in which the force of life is active from under the heavens."?Genesis 6:17

    2490 ? 120 years = 2370 BC (Date of flood per WTS)

    1914 + 90 years = 2004 AD (today)

    1914 + 120 years = 2034 AD

Actually, the talk was first titled "That same month, on February 24 (1918), Brother Rutherford, the newly elected president of the Watch Tower Society, spoke in the United States at Temple Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. His subject was a startling one: “The World Has Ended—Millions Now Living May Never Die.” (Why did it change to WILL?) https://jwfacts.com/watchtower/1925.php

    No more in '34.

Welll here we are. Now inside of 10 years until then. Will we see a ramped-up scare tactic routine? By the Borg for it's $heeples to get their buts in gear???

    Or...

Will the Borg have learned from it's passed blunders in pinning toôoo much expectation on specific dates????

In my contact with JWs during the 1990s, I got to thinking. "The WT says it's the Ark. Noah took 120 years to build the Ark. Add 120 to 1914 , and you get 2034. I never posted that thought to this or earlier boards (wasn't one called H2O, or some such? 🤔) because, to be quite frank, I didn't want to give the WT any ideas.

Thinking about it further now, 1919 is the true foundational date. That would have been when the WT was declared to be the Ark, typologically* speaking. So, WT gets a further reprieve, with their final date stretched to 2039, once you add the 120 years.

    * Or is that antitypologically? I never understood that earlier JW stuff about types and antitypes. 🙄 Neither did the current GB, apparently; they've declared the whole concept null and void.

    1919 the foundational date.

Doubling down on the fictious "faithful slave" doctrine.

I dont know what more nonsensical rhetoric they can come up with now.

NotFormer....I've never seen This calculation either: The "last days" is plural, so there are at least 2 of them , and if 'a day with Jehovah is as a thousand years' (2 Peter 3:8) and they began in 1914...then even the first of them wouldn' end until 2914, we're barely into it. The present Governing Body has shown again and again in recent years that they never had any real understanding of the doctrines they claim to be "'Guardians' of..
