So, I'm sitting in front of the tube surfing through channels, and I come upon the tail end of a JW commercial whose tag line is "love builds happy families", and I'm thinking, only if you submit to WT brainwashing. Once on the inside, if you choose to leave, you'll really begin to see the "love" JWs are all about.

I guess with dwindling membership and their much ado about nothing house to house "ministries" bringing no new blood in, they're taking a recruiting cue from Christendom.

That pretty well sums it up. Absolutely NO love is shown for any who leave, once they are "in"......................................unless the dubs break their own rules and do it THEIR way.

By this I mean those dubs who don't follow the societys proceedures, and they talk to and associate and show love, to those who leave.

Are you certain it wasn't a Mormon commercial, I didn't realise the dubs were hitting the airwaves?

I've heard that they are doing TV ads, but I haven't seen one yet myself. The description sounds so much like the Mormon ads. (Maybe they are splitting the costs.)

I saw one of these commercials a long time ago. At about 3am or so. I thought it was a Mormon Commercial until the end. I commented on the eerily familiar Awake cover look the commercial had and thought the Mormons must be lowering their production standards.

Interesting how they can make a true statement that has absolutely nothing to do with the book publishing corporation they represent.

Paint sticks to dry wood . . . so what? What does love and happy families have to do with the Watch Tower Publishing Corporation?

There was a thread here last year about the TV adds, but I can't find it because the search feature here, does not seem to be working as well at it used to.

Anyways, I saw one of those adds, during the holidays. It was on one of the West Coast networks, or perhaps Superstations, early in the morning. It was about the evils of the interent. It showed a young girl in her bedroom, on a chat line, thinking she was chatting with a person her own age, when in actuallity, it was some sloven middle aged pervert, sitting in his underwear, she was corresponding with. (probably a GB member, or bethel-heavy).

The counsel given was to "monitor your children's use of the internet", and to put the PC in a common area of the house, where the children could be watched. I found it kind of ironic, seeing the WTBTS is a lot more outspoken about internet use among the R&F, then they were in this commercial. But then of course, we all know how honest the WTBTS is.

I also thought it was a LDS commercial, but not as well done as they usually are. Then at the end ..... "Brought to you by the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses".

I believe this commercial is on the jwmedia website. It seems that these commercials haven't hit Canada.

It was just post 9/11 and I saw one of their Ads running here in the Philadelphia viewing area. It was a disgusting play on the fear of terrorism and uncertainty. It was definitely a WTS ad - the voiceover at the end said - "brought to you by The Christian Cong. of Jehovah's Witnesses" - it was the last spot aired during the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

yeah......it does seem that they're airing these ads quite sporadically with no discernable pattern. It's like you'll be flipping through the channels and there it is.

I found the ads errily similar to LDS ads on TV until they speak the tag line CCJW at the end. I guess they're doing that to somehow distance themselves at least in the public eye, from the WTBS.
