I belonged to a congregation that had 2 prisons in its territory. The inmate "publishers" were officially part of that congregation. 4 elders conducted the meetings at each facility, 2 at each.

I remember how one of those elders would constantly berate the members of that congregation and used the example of the inmate publishers to contrast on things like meeting attendance and time spent in the ministry.

Anytime one of these inmate publishers paroled they would attend our meetings. The parolees spent their time trying to get money, jobs, a place to stay from the brothers, and chase sisters in the congregation. If they didn't violate their parolee and get disfellowshipped they would just get disfellowshipped.

If Jesus were ever lost it would be easy to find him. Jesus is in every prison and jail. Just ask the inmates who are looking for him.

If you even know about the "Make Sure" book, you are either very old or found one in a second hand shop. Even though scriptures were misapplied, the book did gather most scriptures on any subject. It was too comprehensive for the dumb'd down version of JW's to use so they stopped printing it and replaced it. The Reasoning From the Scriptures took its place but it was obliterated by "New Light". It was heavy on explanation over scripture and died a hard death. People have already suggested the next best things.

First I want to give you a little background on myself I'm ari Matthew Davies I'm from San Diego California originally. when I was a child I had my experiences with a very Wicked violent child abuser. And sexual abuse from another stepfather. So I'm all too familiar with that. Now as far as my prison ministry I visit prisoners and I bring to them a non denominational Bible study I'm not trying to get anybody to convert to being a watchtower Jehovah's Witness. But I do know that the Watchtower Society has a wealth of Bible study AIDS. So I do use things like indexes and concordance in studying the Bible. I do believe in the name of Jehovah God and its use. However I'm not a fan of any Bible which is made by any organization to try to convert its people to a certain idea and the New World Translation has a few things in it which is geared at doing exactly that.

I recommend the Divine name King James Bible because the King James has always been recognized as the Holy Bible. And simply putting the name Jehovah back in the Old Testament where it belongs doesn't turn it into a denominational Bible. So I use it.

I can say that I learned quite a lot from Jehovah's Witnesses. Primarily that Jehovah God is the one true God and that Jesus Christ is our Lord Savior and King.

Therefore it behooves every person to study A nondenominational Bible .

And to worship Jehovah God and Obey Jesus Christ in the manner that Jesus Christ set forth.

Not necessarily in the way that the Watchtower bible and tract Society sets forth. I was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness I left voluntarily never disfellowshipped never reproved. I simply cannot abide with the many shifts in their Doctrine and their prophecies that just don't come true. How can you possibly preach the coming of Jesus Christ Kingdom when you go to somebody's door and they say oh you're one of those Jehovah Witnesses! You don't believe Jesus died on a cross your prophecies don't come true you have blood transfusion issues etc etc etc.

So I went back to the basics preaching Jehovah God's coming restoration through Jesus Christ straight out of the Bible and using study AIDS from whoever has a good one.

And you do have to admit that some of Jehovah's Witnesses literature is very useful the aid to Bible Understanding especially. I welcome your questions and will answer you is just as honestly as I possibly can.

And I look forward to hearing from you.

I can be found on many different websites I just figured I would join this one too! My name on the Internet is Jehovahisgod. I have made it my personal business to be a real worshiper of Jehovah God and to a obey Jesus Christ. I do try to be tactful in my speech. But I am totally a no-nonsense person when it comes to Jehovah God and to Jesus Christ. I know what the Bible says and I don't compromise Christian values with modern compromises! The Bible says what the Bible says and I'm sticking to it. It is my belief that there are acceptable Christians amongst all of the Christian churches. And as we near the time of the end we're going to see these people come out and form one big group.

It's kind of going to be like Moses and Kora. When Moses asked who of you is on Jehovah's side? Me for one! I sincerely hope you also! May Jehovah bless you.

you do have to admit that some of Jehovah's Witnesses literature is very useful the aid to Bible Understanding especially

Are you aware that "Aid To Bible Understanding " admits that Jehovah is not the correct pronunciation of Gods name ?

That it is more likely according to modern scholars to sound something more like Yahweh ?

Are you also aware that the Tetragramaton the four hebrew letters or their equivalent letters in Greek do not appear in the Christian Greek Scriptures ? the New testament ?

So the name Jehovah should not appear in the new Testament according to the WTB&TS publication KI

Are you also aware that nowhere in the Christian Greek Scriptures /New Testament are Christians charged to be witnesses of Jehovah ,not one scripture says they should be ,not one

However their are something like 20? or so scriptures that charge Christians to be witnesses to Jesus ,20 or more .

Jesus never used The name of God

The Apostles never used the name of God

The disciples never used the name of God

However all two of them ,the Apostles ,and the Disciples used the name Jesus and witnessed about him and none of them witnessed about Jehovah

"you do have to admit that some of Jehovah's Witnesses literature is very useful the aid to Bible Understanding especially"- If memory serves, the Aid book also has a re-definition of the word 'lie' and who is 'worthy' of truth. Ask a jw face to face who is worthy of the truth and they will tell you everybody! too bad their words don't match the reality of a jw. Dishonesty is par for the course as long as you can excuse it with 'protecting' jahs organization.

I'm sorry that you objected to the spelling and pronunciation of God's name but the tetragramaton yhwh does appear 6900 times in the Old Testament. It should never be replaced with the word Lord or God or the tetragramaton does appear. Name Jehoshaphat and jehoiakim appear in the Old Testament therefore it is very apparent that people were using the Jehovah name in the Old Testament we also read praise Jah with me in the Old Testament in any Bible so if you object to using the word Jehovah you at least oh God the courtesy of using the known for letters that he put their call the tetragramaton.

The wt admits that 'jehovah' is not correct. They rely on Catholic traditions, particularly the Catholic monk Martini.

    from wt literature-

w80 2/1 p. 11 The Divine Name in Later Times THE NAME “JEHOVAH” BECOMES WIDELY KNOWN

Interestingly, Raymundus Martini, a Spanish monk of the Dominican order, first rendered the divine name as “Jehova.” This form appeared in his book Pugeo Fidei, published in 1270 C.E.—over 700 years ago.

    .W 12-1-1950, pp. 472-473

"Thank you for this opportunity to present some facts to you and to the public. We do not say that “Jehovah” is the correct pronunciation of God’s name.

The Divine Name Brochure p.10, by the Watchtower Society states:

"Even though the modern pronunciation Jehovah might not be exactly the way it was pronounced originally, this in no way detracts from the importance of the name. While many translators favor the pronunciation Yahweh, the New World Translation and also a number of other translations continue the use of the form Jehovah because of people's familiarity with it for centuries."

As a side note, my jw told me years ago that if I didn't use the word 'jehovah' my prayers would not be heard. Some jw's still believe you MUST use the word 'jehovah' to have any hope (no guarantees in dubland) of surviving the big A.

You must be aware that one could use any combination of vowels they like; jihivih, johivi, jahava and so forth. If a jw says it is ok to use 'yahweh' then could a jw go to a door and say he is 'one of yahweh's witnesses'? I bet if one did there would be a jc meeting set up pretty damn quick.
