It's weird how the Democrats are jerking back and forth according to the latest opinion on whether or not the war was justified. First Dean, the anti-war boy, then we go to Kerry the Nam Vet; we'll see how the next eight months play out... hopefully I'll be able to post from prison if Dean wins the presidency.

    PAT,

I have no sense of humor, irony is lost on me, I'm as colorless as Joe Leiberman.

    LOL @ Czar!

You know, in Iowa, 75% of Kerry voters said that they opposed the Iraq war. I don't think that they're necessarily changing their opinion the war; I think that they're changing their mind about how much it matters.

Did you know that inspite of winning both Iowa and New Hampshire that Kerry has fewer delegates than Dean. As of right now Dean has 113 and Kerry has 94 delegates. I'm not quite sure how that works, but it's reported on CNN.

Ya gotta love Kerry...On Jan. 22, 1991, Kerry's office sent a letter to a constituent, thanking him for expressing opposition to the deployment of additional US troops in Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf. "I share your concerns," Kerry wrote, noting that on Jan. 11 he had voted in favor of a resolution opposing giving the president immediate authority to go to war and seeking to give economic sanctions more time to work.

On Jan. 31, the same constituent received a letter stating that, "From the outset of the invasion, I have strongly and unequivocally supported President Bush's response to the crisis and the policy goals he has established with our military deployment in the Persian Gulf."

    Yeru:

Are they counting DC? the send delegates, too, and that's a lot of pro-Dean people. plus, Moseley-Braun finished second there and send her delegates to Dean. He also may have picked up some of Gephardt's. But, I didn't see the report.

I'm thinking he picked up MB's, I don't know if Gephardts were released or what the deal was.

That's an important factor, too...the quitters. When Lieberman drops, who gets his? (most likely the most moderate one, since Joe is center-right) or Kucinich and Sharpton (Honestly, I don't think we have anyone nearly that liberal...I'm serious, too)? And if Edwards or Clark drop the ball Tuesday (very likely...they can't BOTH do well in the South), who gets thiers?

I don't see Dean winning Tuesday, but I doubt he'll get hammered to the point that he'll quit. He may win the nomination on a coalition of endorsements. I'm not going to break it all down, but I'm just saying it's possible.

Dean's leading in delegates because about 20% of the superdelegates are pledged to him. Unlike elected delegates, however, they have no obligation to him... they can change their mind whwnever they want.
