Here in the US in NC we are having the same weather. My mailman hasn't come the last two days because of the ice and snow. Today should be a little better, according to the weather man. Hope you brits make it OK.

When I left Reading at 5 it was ok but with dark clouds on the horizon, 5 minutes later the M4 was engulfed in a blizzard which promptly froze. To add insult to injury I am oncall this week and got paged at 7:30 just as I was passing Swindon so I pulled off the motorway to take the call and spent two hours at my brothers place hogging his phone line with the laptop attatched to work. I finally got home at 10:30 and changed my underwear. That's the first time I have seen it freeze ontop of the grit they lay on the roads and it turned it into a skating rink - 20 miles an hour all the way from Reading to Bristol! (about 85 miles)
I'm glad everyone made it home ok, and Sirona yes it will be spring soon and not a moment too soon!

Here in Birmingham the roads were a sheet of ice, the rain washing the salt away then tempretures plunging, it all froze solid. I left work at 5.30, to drive the 4 miles home. It took 3 hours. It was all gridlocked. Some people here didn't get home from work until the early hours of the morning.

I coudnt get my lorry up a hill just on a backroad at South Petherton, got halfway up, and slid back down again, other than that, no probs.

Wallflower which part of Birmingham are you from? I'm originally from Walsall but spent a lot of time socialising with JWs from Birmingham.
The snow is clearing from here now but its ice cold, we had snow blizzards last night and driving was hazzardous.
