Hurricane Dorian, one of the most powerful storms ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean, made landfall as a Category 5 storm on Great Abaco Island in the northern Bahamas on Sunday morning, September 1, 2019. Dorian is especially dangerous due to its slow movement, high wind speeds, and heavy rains. The storm passed by the Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands as a tropical storm with little or no reported damage.

The United States branch office continues to gather information while monitoring the storm’s impact on our brothers and also on branch-owned properties. At this time, there have been no reported injuries among the 46 publishers in the two congregations on Great Abaco Island. However, the only Kingdom Hall on the island was destroyed.

On Grand Bahama Island, there are four congregations and 364 publishers. Initial reports indicate that 196 of our brothers are displaced and 22 homes have sustained damage. Three homes have been destroyed.

The branch provided instruction in advance of the storm to local circuit overseers and elders in the affected areas. The branch recommended that all the brothers relocate to the capital city of Nassau or other sheltered areas.

We pray for our brothers and sisters who are suffering as a result of this hurricane. We know that Jehovah sees their difficulty and will continue to give them strength to cope with this time of distress.—Psalm 46:1, 2.

Here is a photo of the Bahamas after it was hit with a powerful storm, Hurricane Dorian. Lives were lost, businesses and homes were destroyed. Rebuilding will take years and hundreds of millions of dollars.

So, what is the Watchtower Society really concerned about? Publishers and Kingdom Halls!

Where is the concern about the locals and their property? Why aren't they praying over the locals?

Since Jehovah sees their difficulty, why didn't he stop the powerful storm in the first place? And what does, '' give them strength to cope with this time of distress'' really entail?

Watchtower only takes care of it's own and even then they do a piss poor job (not protecting children). If you are not a JW, you are dead to them. If you "left Jehovah" (aka...the borg), you are certainly dead to them. Look how JW families treat those who can not stay in. They are dead to them. WT is only worried about it assets and it's money. A true 100% narcissistic cult!

If there was ever to be a god in the universe, mother nature is it, its evidential and real to are awareness.

Why is it that when people pray to god to save them from destruction from a hurricane or other catastrophic occurrence, he doesn't stop it or intervene ?

"thoughts and prayers" - the same sappy thought that comes from many religions, which means nothing.

I also don't understand why any of these people believe in a God who loves to watch suffering, and never steps in to help. What's the point?

    How so you measure that?

    And what about everyone else?

Was there a Mass Suicide because Jehober did not give unbelievers the strength to cope?

    FYI - CULT + TIME = Religion

The WTBTS is demonstrating the attitude of someone who has a 'could care less' mindset...James 2:15-17 describes such one in the following way:

"If a brother or a sister is lacking clothing and enough food for the day,  yet one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but you do not give them what they need for their body, of what benefit is it? So, too, faith by itself, without works, is dead."

Then too, considering how much money the organization has at its disposal for helping those in need...there is this in 1John 3:17,18

"But whoever has the material possessions of this world and sees his brother in need and yet refuses to show him compassion, in what way does the love of God remain in him?  Little children, we should love, not in word or with the tongue, but in deed and truth."

Did WT pad their pockets over Dorian via donations/contributions?

Fore decades we have lived with the assurance that jehober always protects "his people". So either he doesn't have any "people" or we lived with a lie!

Like I told my pimi wife, "Jehovah always protects his own-------------------------------except when he doesn't."

    just saying!

The branch recommended that all the brothers relocate to...sheltered areas.

And sadly there were probably "good" Dubyas that waited for official word from "mother" before doing what any sane intelligent independent person would normally do.
