Yup, credit where credit's due.
The Org was able to keep it on the DL for a good long while.

I'm sure there were a few JWS who took to notice that " Hey we just spent a good chunk of money renovating are Kingdom Hall, now we are told they are going to sell it and move us into another Hall, while taking the money from the sale of are old Hall " ????
But more than likely they didn't make a fuss about it and just kept quiet
In the hierarchical power structure of the JWS the lowest level ones are deemed the most manipulable and exploitable.
Loyalty bothers and sisters loyalty , do you have any objections to the directions handed out by the positioned ones, well then you'll have to have a private meeting with a couple of elders in the back Hall to discuss the matter .
Look for drive-throughs at your local Kingdom Hall, pick up literature without getting out of your car!
The shepherd lovingly tends His flock so he can continue to make a living off the land. Periodically that entails sending some of His beloved flock to the slaughterhouse. That's shepherding in the real world for you. Not such a good analogy after all, is it?
Brilliant observation!
Captain you deserve a large one for that post, mate
and if it's deemed that a hall "needs" renovation, then, by golly, start those renovation, and pay the increased rent with those contributions you are squeezing out of "the sheep."
Yep and when its time to sell the Property, the increased monetary value gets passed on to the WTS's. purse.
All in the name of Jah the Real Estate tycoon. $$$
The is NOT a WTS related company, but, no lie, this is a real estate company in the South Central US...

(The JAH stands for John A Henry, but still, kind of unnerving to see the signs around town...)
There is another company in town, real estate of a different religion (and you get to use really cool swords!)
