I ran into James Arness (Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke) on a riverboat on the Rhein River in West Germany. He was most pleasant and pleased that I knew his real name instead of just Mr. Dillon. He wanted to know what we were doing in Germany (serving in the USAF) and how long we had been there, etc.

Also met and shook hands with John Wayne and his son when they were in Florida making the movie, "The Green Berets". He bought a round of drinks for the officers who were present in the club that evening.

Ran into Sterling Holloway (Voice of Kaa the snake in Jungle Book and voice of Winnie the Pooh on Television) on a airplane flying out of Thailand. He wanted to know how I had recognized him as everyone knew his voice, but not what he looked like. I told him that I remembered him from the time he was a regular on the old "Life With Riley" TV series with William Bendix and Jane Wyman (He was the kooky next door neighbor). He informed me that he was the only one still alive from that series.

and ended up meeting a lot of different people, including many celebrities who would come in generally to do live shows in the showroom. While working there, I had the fortune (if you want to call it that!) of meeting George Strait, Bill Medley (of the Righteous Brothers), Wynonna Judd, Neil Diamond, George Burns, Sammy Davis Jr., Davey Jones (of the Monkees), Bill Cosby, Joe Bonsall (of the Oakridge Boys), Howard Keel (who played Clayton Farlow on the TV Series, "Dallas") and - Mouthy's Heart Throb - Tom Jones.

    Damn imallgrowedupnow!

I'd be happy if I only met Ron Howards ugly brother Keith.

I met Jim Glaser. Bid deal eh? He was with his brother in the group..."the Glaser Brothers. They did the backup in Marty Robbins song...."El Paso". He also had a couple of hit singles."If I could only dance with you"....and I forgot the other one. I'm embarrased now

Met Harry Chapin once after a concert (c. 1977) - got a handshake and his autograph on a program.

Remember Ed Muskie, the senator from Maine who ran for Vice President with Hubert Humphrey in 1968? A bunch of us in the high school Model Government Club got permission to take the afternoon off and meet him at a campaign appearance. Again, a brief handshake and a couple of sentences was all I got.

I've been within spitting distance of Bob Dylan at a few concerts, but never actually got to meet him...

Oh yeah, and I once bought a picnic table and benches from a guy who claimed to be John Lennon's cousin! (His name was actually John W. Lennon)

When I was around 10 years old, I met Joey Gregorash and got an autographed picture from him.

I met Brian Vollmer, the singer from Helix not so long ago. Actually, I was in a picture on Helix's website not so long ago. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell it's me. I should've taken my glasses off for the pic.

I indirectly met Buck Dharma from Blue Oyster Cult on the internet. I don't know if that counts. Him and his wife have wished me happy birthday 2 years in a row!

My next goal is to meet Darby Mills from Headpins. :)

When I was 9 years old my father worked at a film festival in Dallas and I went over to check it all out. Gene Kelly was their guest and I got to meet Mr. Kelly and hang out w/his daughter, who was about my age. Mr. Kelly was larger than life and very kind to me. I stared at his legs the whole time because I thought he might dance!

Got Mr. Rogers at the door once... He was visiting a friend in Mount Lebanon (a suburb of Pittsburgh). He was nice but it was obvious he had little tolerance for cults.

Oh and yes of course there?s Morgan Fairchild, whom I slept with

You did??????? When she was about 30 I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. She still looks great for a woman her age (late 50's) but her skin is a little TOO tight.

I've posted this before, but here goes again. Most of you will have no idea who some of these men are.

I had breakfast with Mark Victor Hansen (co author of "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books and motivational speaker) in 1995. He is a really great guy. We were at the same resort in Hawaii, and at the breakfast buffet, he came to my table to sit next to me and introduced himself as Mark. I had no idea who he was until he stood up and I could read his entire name tag, which he had on his belt. We were all there as part of a reward trip for the same company. I met him several more times over the next few years. Once in an airport, I spotted him in the baggage area, called his name, and he blew me a kiss, and yelled my name. I was flattered he remembered my name, but people like him do remember names.

Back in 1965 I was on a merry go round with our 2 year old at the Seattle Center and Telly Savales was there with his children, who were on the next row of horses. We were standing together with the kids as it went around and around, and chatted a bit. He was in Seattle making "The Slender Thread". I didn't let on that I knew who he was.

In 1998 I was at the Family HIstory Library in Salt Lake City, (on lunch break at another seminar) doing genealogy research and the man at the next computer asked me if I knew how to access a particular catalog. I did and showed him. Later I saw him on TV and he was also a speaker at the seminar. He was Doug Wead, one of the former advisers to Ronald Reagan and George Bush (the first one). Since then I looked him up on the internet and he is all over the place, and a prolific author too.

I also met Orrin Hatch that weekend (1998). He was a speaker at the seminar. I was impressed with his very strong values. He spoke to the seminar about many things, but got off on another subject, telling us about a terrible threat to our nation, an evil man named Osama Bin Laden. I wondered who he was.

Another time I was at yet another seminar in LA, and stayed at a Century City hotel, across the street from Century City Mall. I was at the Mall and saw Melanie Griffith with one of her kids............no one paid any attention to her. At the hotel, they had a big dinner because the President (Clinton) was in town also staying at the same hotel. I was in the lobby when many celebrities arrived, Lori Laughlin, Brad Pitt, Christian Slater, Jeff Goldblum (sooooo tall), and Kirstie Alley and her then husband Parker Stevenson.

My father was pretty good friends with Robert Cummings. He called our house a few times when I was a teenager. When my parents were in France, Mom tells about Yves Montand who came to their table in Paris, and kissed her hand and flirted outrageously with her. (she was about 55 and gorgeous...........he was about 70)
