Because I haven't been here too long, I was wondering what this forum was like a couple of years ago. The reason I'm asking is that I've been noticing alot of new ones joining. Has that always been the case or does it seem like they are increasing more rapidly now?

As a sign of the last days Simon's board is experiencing an influx of new onces drawn to the pure waters of life.
Sex, there used to be more sex on the board...*sigh* I miss that sometimes...
I have only been a member 11 months and I have noticed a change -- some formerly prominent members have left e.g. Hamas and Stinky Pantz
There is that spiffy new logo...

The major change is that new members are no longer obligated to bring Krispy Kremes. (sigh) Damn, we had a good thing going there for awhile. (sigh)

The most major change is that in the process of discussing, many JWs had their eyes opened to reality and truth. This is a great healing place for the hurts perpetrated by Jehovah's Witnesses and as you can see many sincere JWs come to this site and have their eyes opened to the real truth.

When I first started lurking on this board 3 years ago, I was struck by the brilliance, hilarity, compassion, kindness, and insight, of many of it's posters. It helped me, and my family, tremendously. And for that, I will always be indebted to those posters and to Simon and Ang.
Yes, it was very much like the wild west with its fighting being the thing of which legends are made.
Inspite of all of that fighting, newbies continued to sign up and this board continued to grow.
Simon had to deal with a lot of crap. I will acknowledge that. I have even vigorously defended him when I thought it was warranted. However, I find the deletions, inconsistency, kneejerk and ham-fisted, reactions in the past year or two, to have cost this board greatly.
I suppose I still find value here because I'm obviously still posting here. And, unless the decision is made for me to leave, I'm not sure how long I will stay around.
I have gotten to know only a handful of posters, most of which are not here much, if at all, anymore. I'm not privy to "behind the scenes" nor do I really care about it. If something doesn't seem right, I think that it is reasonable to question it. AND, I think it's reasonable to question the answer if it doesn't make sense.
So, I guess I will see what happens now.

well...maybe for me that is a good thing. Even with some restraints here I know I might at times say a little more than I should for some members.. Imagine if there was no restraints?
I was wondering, when did the change from being a JW board, to an xJW board pretty much occur? I do remember when it started and did sort of check it out in its beginning but I was a JW then and under the impression even then xJWs were posting so I didn't at that time join.
