Many who have been a JW since the 70- 80s remember the JW dramas coming out yearly.. today they are movies but to the topic.... Many of the voice actors are the same.

    One however is plain odd.

Lets list his roles as I remember:

    The Exodus drama: Janes

Gideon drama: an anger worshiper of Baal

    Job Drama: I think Bidad

In the Elijah drama he is Jehosaphat

Now in the dramatic bible reading of Job 1,2 he is Satan

Now many would suggest this guy is dead by now but I don't think he is. See the RNWT audio book of Job has him as athe voice of Eliphaz.

IF anyone forgets his weird voice check out Job chapter 4 on the audio.

    Now my question is ...

Whoever this guy is..lol... did he ever give a talk... and did anyone take it seriously.... I never heard this high up brother give a talk and if he had I would have remembered it as a joke!

    Anyone have his name?

    Any talks?

I give him credit for being creepy.

There were three from this era who had creepy voices. The first two, Karl Klein and Joel Adams, had American accents. The one you're describing, who I remember very well but have no clue who it is, had a British accent. It's possible they channeled a demon and gave it a script 😜 That, or it's Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine's grandpa.

Htbwc, you have watched too many of their dramas!

The one I remember was called brother Friend. Had a thick Jewish accent hence he did all the old patriarch voices. I assume his family escaped the holocaust to the US and changed their name.

His name is Sam Buck. He gave a talk at an International Convention in Spain in 2003 and had the exact same recognisable voice. I immediately recognised his voice from the Exodus drama and went to meet him after the assembly.

He seemed a very nice and humble guy and played his part down. We had a fun chat about that drama. Here’s his photo that I took:

The British guy that Neat Blue Dog is referring to is the Scot, Jack Barr (now deceased).

    Xan,

I remember Brother Friend's voice too. His name was Maxwell Friend, I think. I seem to recall his life story being printed at some point in one of the magazines.

No, I wasn't thinking of brother Barr, he has a very pleasant voice. I just listened to the recording of Job chapter 4 you cited and that is indeed Joel Adams, who I mentioned in my first post.

The one with the sniveling voice and British accent I thought you meant played background characters in many dramas including the Moses one.

I met him in Patterson, and when he spoke I said you were the “voice of Satan” at the convention audio clip. Joel Adams
