G?day all and greetings from downunder!

How?s your weekend been going? Here in Oz we?re enjoying the summer heat with blue skies and light breezes. Temperatures are in the high 30s Celsius so it?s time for swimming, bbqs, and flies!

Tonight Mrs Ozzie and I will be going to a favorite restaurant of ours, so the shiraz will be flowing!

But there?s still time to rest up for a few minutes and reminisce with our weekend poll. Perhaps you?re an expert pollster, so get your replies in and we can all share together.

    This weekend?s poll question is:

What do you remember most about the circuit overseer?s visit?

    1. Everyone was on their best behaviour.
    2. Even the irregular meeting attenders showed up!
    3. The elders gave a lot of comments in the meetings.
    4. All the ?try hards? were making themselves heard.
    5. More meetings.
    6. Longer meetings.
    7. A spiritually refreshing time. (Who said that??)
    8. We had to go out in field service!
    9. Field service was at 8:30 in the morning!!
    10. Rushed meetings.
    11. Hard work!
    12. Other (please detail)

    So that?s it!

    Enjoy!

    Cheers, Ozzie

Trying to make myself "invisible" so the elders wouldn't come bugging me to make lunch or dinner for the ruddy freeloading ingrates CO and his wife.

Everything but 7, I will think of more examples for twelve, but I know that the KH was never cleaner than when the CO was in town.

My favorite thing was watching how nervous the elders would get during the CO's visit.

We always had the really mean, make babies cry by looking at them CO's. However, once for a little over a year, we had a really great CO. He was the nicest man. You could tell that he truely cared about the people he talked to. He took time to speak to everyone, not just the elders, MS's or pioneers. He was actually one of the annointed. The org moved him out because the congregations loved him so much and went on and on about how great he was. This made the DO think that they were getting "dangerously close" to idol worship. The guy that replaced him was just downright mean and nasty. He looked like and had the personality of Mr. Burns from The Simpsons.

lol, everyone always got nervous and such, and when the CO visited my g/f's congregation we thought he was going to ask us what we did. she also wanted to go out into service when he was here (keep in mind that morning was 10 degrees), and i told her to F%^k that, its too damn cold. pretty much when a CO comes everyone puts on something fake, somethign they aren't....

#1 & #8. We also generally had them over for lunch or dinner. Not a relaxed atmosphere that's for sure - I always felt like I was walking on egg shells to say and do the right thing during the meal.

I would much rather enjoy a glass of wine kicked back in comfy clothes with a few of the posters here!

    Well, #7: not really.

My own #12: Wondering what new baseless criticisms the CO could find of the work of the elders, however picky or outrageous, and harrange us during his meeting with the elders.
