Talking of Kent state its a shame young people don't realize that "SAFE SPACES" include a place where you don't die in a hail of bullets in the classroom.....they need to stop protesting about Halloween costumes being offensive on campus and start protesting about stuff that's a real danger to them; like these absurd gun laws and ensuring the FBi don't make the kind of mistake like this again.

The DeftonesThe US constitution wasn't written for 50 states either. The country has gotten too big and I think the solution is fragmentation. States like Texas and New York have nothing in common, it's bizarre that they'e part of the same union

I've often wondered if that's the case..what does everyone in the USA say to that?

Do you think people who are mentally unstable should never get a gun?

by the way... The FBI is doing a heck of a job following leads on getting these nuts out of the way, huh?

The answer to that is obvious, really not worth debating.

What can be realized now in refection of the recent massacre attacks is that its impossible to control every person who may start up sometime in their life an anti social mentally deranged attempt to kill people.

These people have been known to use single shot hand guns as well single shot hunting rifles.

What can be done though is either ban all guns from the public to own or restrict what kinds of guns the public can openly purchase and own. .

What is the most feasible and balanced ?

Over prescribing of drugs including to children, poor & aggressive society, hate and anger on the TV 24x7, easy access to high-fire-rate weapons and as much ammunition as you can carry.

    What could possibly go wrong.

The 2nd amendment was an appeasement to the states that wanted to control slaves. Why didn't they all just up and leave? Who would stop them? The slave patrols - the well regulated armed militia.

    Good point Simon

Violence is sold and marketed to the public in various means and ways, its mentally digestible to most balanced segment of the population but about the small minority that are suffering from some form of mental instability ?

..and what is these people owned guns of various destructive varieties ?

Simon, some of the first gun control laws passed in this country banned African-Americans from owning one. That is a bit of history nobody wants to talk about, its hard to enslave people who have guns.

Amateurs with guns would quickly be overpowered by the state. If they wanted to enslave people again (not a credible possibility) then they could to it, guns or not

Guns don't kill people, people kill people but people with guns kill more people and mentally unstable people with guns kill the most people. -nicolaou-

Could you cite references to where you got information that mentally unstable people with guns kill the most people? I find that hard to believe. I would guess that soldiers with guns kill more people than a mentally unstable person with a gun.

Also... do you have any numbers on how many people that are mentally unstable and own guns never kill people? I doubt it. There are many different ways of being mentally unstable. It is actually very possible to be mentally unstable, to own a gun, and to never use it on people.

Stop stigmatizing an entire group of people with your homegrown ignorance, please.
