I can understand why she used to be a model.........trouble is, she used to model saddles.

On a more serious note...
Prince will get along just fine wearing suits like that at the assemblies. My buddy and I would call them GBB's -- "Gang Banger Brothers."

That picture would get anyone else disfellowshipped, but see what happens when your daddy makes such large contributions to the WTS?

lol - If Serena showed up at any swim gathering of jw's (where adults were present and/or just as judgemental younger persons) - she would be *marked* as "unsuitable association."
Nothing's wrong with the way she's dressed in this picture.
What's wrong is the average jw female couldn't get away with wearing the same thing - let alone pictured in a national magazie.
What's really wrong is it's ok for Serena - but damned for another jw female to do same thing.
Money/power/public image are still the most important things - the WTBTS & Jehovah's Witnesses are no different.

Agreed - double standards when you have wealth and fame.
I don't think the picture does justice to her face - not very flattering,
but
"cheeses - who has seen a better head on a beer and a better body at a wreckers yard"
looking at your avatar, I now understand, but do not agree with your statement.
Just my opinion, :)

Her daddy isn't a JW. I don't think they are active witnesses so not much of a double standard. Unless of course we want to compare all the inactive JWs on this site to active JWs and call it all hypocrisy as well.

I really dont understand why people here are always acting as though Serena and Venus Williams are hypocrites because they call themselves JW's and act/dress as they do. And even worse ASSUME that they are giving tons of money to the organization. That is completely speculation and unfounded, so why assume and make things up like that?
Unless I have missed something, we do not even know what their status is in their congregation. They could very well be marked as a family and treated like the jw's treat everyone who is able to think for themselves.
Think about how bad the publicity would be for the society if they came out publically and df'd and denounced these popular sisters? Remember dfing is the part of the religion that the society would rather the public not know about. The girls could EASILY bring a LOT of attention to the organization and their harmful practices if they ever came to realize what they were involved in or were hurt enough by being df'd. IF the society hasnt acted against them they have probably decided it is best for the organization as a whole to not draw that kind of negative publicity. As it is the girls only mention a bit once in a while about being Jw's and most people dont even know they are, that is better for the society.
As for the girls, good for them for doing what they want to do regardless of man made rules. Obviously they are not brainwashed into caring what Jehovah thinks. Good for them.
