  My doctor recommends not getting the tongue pierced........

  Says.. the little piercing thingy ma-bob-bies is really hard on your teeth... not good ..takes enamel off . scrapes teeth.....

  Yeru...there isn't that much difference...and when she starts chipping the enamel off her teeth she might think twice. Not worth it IMO.

  Funny I have always had lil bump on my tongue right where the piercing would go...so I prefer to leave my tongue the way nature intended.

  About ten years ago one of my daughter's friends moved into our house, if I remember right he'd been kicked out by his mother or some stupid thing. Anyway, at one point he got his tongue pierced. It took him about three weeks to learn to talk again. About two months after that the thing got infected. His tongue swelled up to about four time it's normal size and he had to go to the ER to get the piercing cut out.

  IMHO nothing is worth that kind of trouble.

  I'll say it here and now, as I told my wife...I didn't ask her to do it...didn't suggest that it would be cool, never even brought up the subject of oral and tongue piercings...she did this all on her own...and without asking me about it.
