    Hi all,

Has anyone stopped to consider the mental condition of those who have been at the top of WTBTS?

How crazy was C.T.Russell? I surely don't have all the facts, but I do know this much: A man in his twenties felt that his interpretation of a 2,000 year-old book was directly sent from God above. No one else was privy to this direct memo from heaven. Everyone who does not buy into this interpretation will be subject to eternal destruction. Any who do will receive everlasting life. You could be shipped off to "Happy Acres" for this today!

The fact that people did buy into this is amazing. They even took over the reigns after Russell died. The executives and writers have all added their opinions and 100+ years later, its still way off the mark. To feel that your way is the only way, that it is inspired of God in spite of countless mistakes and false prophecies, and that people will be destroyed by God for not signing on, is madness. These guys should not be allowed to roam the streets.

Hear! Hear! But Russel, Rutherford, Fred Frank et al. are not alone in their insanity, look at the Mormons : Golden plates inscribed with texts in an old egyptian language, found in North America, seen only by Joseph Smith, translated in secret, never seen by anyone else....

I think they are very sane and very smart. They lead a multi-billion dollar corporation that has millions of paying followers. Their reasoning is faulty and their beliefs are outright ridiculous. However, they have survived tumultous upheavals in their leadership and the realization that their forecasts about the end have come and gone, yet they still exist. Hitler and Goerbals would be proud of this propaganda machine that takes a hit and keeps on going. The third Reich crumbled and so will the Watchtower one day hopefully.

well.....i remember a few stories where the moral of them were they were so smart that they were insane actually.... i even know some very smart people, smarter than me, but they are insane to the core.....or else they throw everything away. the point being, give an insane person power and control over people and you end up like the WTS....

ese, the point that i was trying to get at is that insane people are very very smart. look at jeffrey dahmer, hannibal the cannibal, or somebody who's severely messed something up in the past. all these men were considered GENIUSES, but their downfall was their mental illness...kinda funny it seems, they say that they understand more than normal humans, and thats their illness.

oh and one other thing. i was watching the dean martin show (ya, i know, i'm young and shouldn't watch it), but goldie hawn was on and was being really really funny. but she made a good point, and the point was that DUMB people don't start shit. they leave it alone. all the smart people cause problems and troubles, and if the world was uneducated, then there would be no problems. good point when you think of it. uneducation = no nukes, no armies, no reading, just sex and drugs YAAA
