I Met A Fellow "Apostate" From This Board Yesterday!!!

Yesterday, my wife and I met a poster from this board in New York and had a wonderful conversation! I won't reveal who he is unless I get his OK but I will say that it was the first time that I've met anyone from this board that I had not known from the past. (A friend of mine,Ho Chi Min, posts here and I've known him for a number of years). What I thought was most enjoyable was that we did have an "interchange of encouragment" and had very similar backgrounds growing up in the "truth". We exchanged stories and had a few drinks. All in all, I would say that meeting some friends here for the first time was something that we felt was quite positive......How many here have gotten to know and make new friends because of this board??

I had a wonderful time visiting Craig and Katie's house last year, and meeting several other kind folks as well.

I met {{Shera}}, and she's a great womyn. We're gonna hook up again soon.

Also, participating on JWD gave me the courage to contact my cousins, who are also ex-JW. I'm meeting up with them in March and I just --- can't --- wait. It's been over 25 years!!!

I can't say that I've made any " friends " yet but I would like to, so far it's just been acquaintances. I've noticed though that the people here are very friendy and I like the change since leaving.

Meeting up with others as well as communicating with people by phone or net is a very good way to "heal".

Talesin...I met Shera as well in Toronto....She is the nicest person, but wish I had had more time to get to know her.....

My first month or so on the board, I met some wonderful people in Toronto...Petty, outnfree, izzicool, Rayzor, Aztec, beans, Quotes, Sloan, Obwain, the list goes on and on.....There were alot to meet up with Vicki....( I reunitied with her)

On the 25th of this month, I am going to meet Morris....He is reading from his new book there with Carol Pope....Cannot wait to meet up with him and some other folks from the board there.....

If you get a chance to meet people from the board, it is the most interesting/entertaining thing to do...To have someone to understand where your coming from, it is the most uplifing experience one can only dream about.....Dreams do come true!!!

I just love meeting people from this board...I wish I had the money/time/health to travel the world and meet alot more people from this board..

A few come to mind that I would love to meet in real life.....Sassy, Mouthy, Simon and wife, Gumby, Sally, Nina, Mac, and even Min....These are just a few that I would love to meet in person.....The list is way to big to mention....

Yeah, Special K, it woulda sucked if the meeting was negative. But as Morton said, it was an "uplifting experience"!!!
