So who all here makes mistakes? my single biggest mistake was being born...otherwise i'd have to say that my biggest mistake was taking up a hobby in extreme sports such as riding motorcycles and mountain bikes down buzy streets, and skateboarding. doing all of this while i have a bone disease that severely limits my mobility now and in the future....

also posting my previous topic was retarded =D

    Dustyb.

My God fellow why on earth are you putting yourself down like that. Please you are not stupid at all. I for one enjoy your postings and I find you have a nice sense of humor.

Enough people in life will call us stupid we don't need to think that about ourselves. When I went to jr high school I always had a terrible time learning certain aspects of the English language as well as mathematics. And one day I said to my teacher, gee whiz I am never going to learn this stuff I must be stupid.

She got annoyed with me and said the following, "terry you are in no way stupid you are a smart student. It appears to me that someone calls you stupid and you are beginning to believe it. " I told her, that my father always calls me stupid and she said, "look I don't want you to ever say that about yourself ever again and your father is not a very nice parent is he?" I said no he isn't nice. But the one thing I learned that day was that I was never ever again allow anyone to call my stupid again. You know what happens my dad told me so many times I really believed him. That is aweful and he should have been ashamed of himself. But he wasn't and he still called me stupid most of my life, but hey I don't care I knew I was smart because some one took the time to tell me I was an intelligent person.

So I am saying the same to you.

I am so sorry you have problems with your mobility and your bones and yes it is too dangerous to do such extreme sports where you will hurt yourself. I know your young once and want to do all the things that are exciting and sometimes acting like a daredevil. I too did to many daredevil things in my life and it caused me many times physical injury. So dustyb be good to yourself.

    Love ya

Funny I thought your name was dustyb not stupid. Why did you change your nickname??

The biggest mistake I made was getting married when I was 19 to a man who was 13 years older and has taken advantage of me since the day I met him and is still trying to take advantage of me.

The second one is like your first one and my third one is not having the courage to end everything right this instant like I often wish I could. Its just all to hard and getting harder by the day and I am sick to death of it all.

First of all, dustyb, it isn't a mistake that you were born because you quite simply couldn't control that...don't even joke like that because even for self-deprecation that is harsh...

Anyway, my biggest mistake was buying into peer pressure when I first got baptized...even back then there were things I didn't agree with but I just chalked it up to not being righteous enough...

Yes, bud, give the harshness with yourself a rest. While I am sure we all can daily look around at some people in this world and think, "stupid", it takes all the fun out of it when someone willingly cops to it. (JUST KIDDING) But yes, my friend, you should know and accept your limitations, we all should, until you can find a modified or safer way to enjoy those types of activities. I admire your gumpshun.

I think I have yet to make my biggest mistake, but we will see. To date, my biggest screw-up was getting married to an ignorant kook the first time around. Neither I, nor my wonderful kids, will never have a moments rest until that lady is on permanent life support.

    dustyb,

The answer to your question should be obvious. What do you think most of us are here for?! Believing Watchtower garbage is our biggest mistake.

And don't run yourself down. When you meet someone who's never made a BIG mistake let me know. Oh, you won't be able to, we'll both be dead.

Here are a few of my biggest mistakes:

Deciding not to go to university because of being a JW. This was after passing for Cambridge to read mathematics! duurrgghhh.

Then trying to make a go of being a dub instead of getting out fast. This included dating a far too 'spritual' girl for nearly two years. Last I heard she had become a missionary in a jungle somewhere in Africa!

Another mistake was after finally leaving I then decided to have my teenage years during my 20's and spent far too much time partying, instead of trying to join the RAF which was something I'd always wanted to do, or get some kind of career going.

Oh, and in 1976 deciding whoever won one of the cup finals that year, either Manchester City or Manchester United would become my football team.

(actually the last mistake is one I'm happy with!)

    CF.

    Hey CF,

I heard you actually come from an area that has another team in the Premier League. Shouldn't you be supporting them - or have I been misinformed?
