On a side note, always be skeptical of wise old sayings and analogies. They often ring true but can be contradictory and can be used to fit whatever point the speaker is trying to make.

They try to make the "first" accusation:
"Would you drink it if it had one drop of poison in it?"
"What kind of religion would not let you question it, wouldn't that make you suspicious?"
"We abhoooooorrrrr child abuse!"
So that they can say, "We said it first, so it can't be us!"

JW's would not only drink it but they would empty the glass and ask for a 2nd glass!
First, we do drink water with poison added. Is your water fluoridated? If so, it has "a tiny drop of poison". Fluoride ruins your brain, and creates problems with the pineal gland. It also binds calcium, causing it to deposit in your arteries instead of getting to where it is needed. As such, fluoride can cause blood pressure issues. And they blame cholesterol.
Next, suppose the whole LIE-ble is poison. To add to it, they make it even more poison by interpreting it to enslave the whole flock. If one were to abide by the washtowel, it would barely be discernible from full communism. You have food, it is communal property even if you earned the money to buy it or grew it yourself. Your home is communal property. Your car is communal property--how many use them for field circus and waste gas and wear on it, while everyone and their dog gets to drive them in field circus? Freedom to discuss outside viewpoints is missing.
About the only thing not poison is the washtowel's stand against smoking--though I do not believe using drugs is evil (it is stupid, not evil). But, would you drink a glass of fluoride with a drop of water in it?

The GB have come out and said that they are not inspired and are not infallible and can get things wrong...
And there is no mass walkout as of yet...8 million people are trapped in the concept that it is God's Organisation and is "the truth".
No matter what is said by the GB or printed it does not matter to a JW because they believe in the concept.
They can say all the batshit crazy they want....they can change everything and anything and it simply will not matter to those that believe in the concept that the GB are chosen by a god called "Jehovah".
JWs are not allowed to investigate if their water is poisoned or not, so how would they know?
We know, that's why we're shunned.
If that were truly the case Jehovah's Witnesses would not be using the pagan practice of wearing wedding bands, bridesmaids in weddings, and the bride wearing a white dress.
That's just one example of a "tiny drop of poison" that Witnesses have no problem digesting.
