It is one way to get the latest magizines so you can keep us posted as to the latest information. But I think you did okay for being caught of guard.

Hey, if they do, then maybe next time you can ask them about some of the doctrines.......like 1914........see what they say.
I kept thinking today, what if they bring someone back next week who recognises me from the cong.
If they do, just scream in terror and say "You told me you were Mormon last week!"

I didn't recognise them at all from my old congregation, and took the magazines from them.
So look through the magazines and find two or three questions which they can't answer or will need to checkout.
If you tell me what the issues were I'll give ya a hand.
What's your status are you df'd, because if you are then this will all back fire.
If you are maybe when they return just be up front with them, tell them they caught you off guard and you didn't know what to say, your df'd but you did look through the mags and highlight to them a couple of points which stink like two week old fish and then politely give them back.

Mary..... No way would I use the Mormon card, I work with one. Every mornings almost a scream-time for me! She's taken an unusual interest in me since my JW past has been mentioned.....Ensign magazine and the BOM have been in evidence for a while now, naturally I'm duty bound to take the latest WT/Awake mags in and hide them in her photocopier.......;-) And guess what...I have fresh supplies....
I wonder about my convictions, sometimes they're not a sstrong as you think, many here are glad to have left all that behind......... but that JW stuff still resurfaces and burns inside me still.... Thats why I get stumped.

What else can you do? You could be honest if you get recognized and tell them that you have no explaination other than that you just "froze up".
