It's the biggest meeting at the Kingdom Hall all year! And I think it's on a Sunday this year, so they will probably set attendance records. People will come out of the walls to make their "once a year" appearance at the Kingdom Hall. Yes, Jehovah is blessing the Witnesses.

And all onlookers will have the "privilege" to hear how the sacrifice of Christ (for which they ARE NOT allowed to drink the wine) means that they should attend the organization's meetings and serve the organization in recognition of all Christ did for them.

    Sounds like fun to me.

Sassy...This will also be my first memorial missed. I am expecting the elders to call any day now to "remind" me. I am also expecting many others to be asking me about it...Since I am presently catagorized as being "inactive" many will be shocked when I don't tend the memorial. I think this will be a breaking point for me with those still in the Org. I remember a sister last year making some real cutting comments about a woman who did not attend for her first time last year. So, this is it folks...I am making the big break..

Last year was the first time that I didn't attend. And I will not be going this year. My hubby is a jw, so it was a challenge not to attend, it would have been easier just to go. I told him that my conscience would not allow me to attend, I explained why, and he accepted it. I can't help but feel that I'm rejecting Jesus if I attended now that I know the truth about the jw religion.

I want to go. I want to laugh my butt off during the whole thing and drink the wine and eat the unleavend bread. I want to see what would happen.

Are you kidding me? Last time I was at a Memorial, Reagan was president.

It is the third year in a row that I am not going. The first time was strange. I did not really decide but was so long at work that I did not make it. Weel, I made the decision to work that long. ;-)

I do not want to inflat the propaganda numbers.

This will be our first year missed. We went last year even though we were on our way out.

As for your discussion with your mother, I'm sorry she was that short with you. My husband's family has been very upset and even cried over our leaving but my family has been nothing but hateful and uncivil when discussing the religious aspect of our relationship. They take it personally that I'm making the stand that I am and they keep saying things like I'm saying they're wrong and mislead. I haven't said any of these things to them but they are very defensive. I see this attitude with your mother, I think. Maybe she's trying the guilt trip ,self-righteous stand? I don't know, but I am sorry. Stephanie

I'm not going, for the first time ever. Neither is my wife. Two of my daughters aren't going either. They can count us as minus 4.
