The heavenly government that has done nothing?

With elections coming up this year in the USA, I got to thinking about the messianic kingdom set up in 1914. This government, so we are lead to believe, has been in place almost 90 years now.

Divide that by 4 or 5 years for a typical "worldly" government's term of office and that works out at approximately 20 terms in office! Now what would you think of a government who won 20 straight terms of office but never did a thing? True, they have a great manifesto, equality, health, living conditions, but never deliver. And, it is not through lack of membership of this government; why there's nearly 144,000 of them! Besides, this government is infinitely bigger than any other government I know of. The number of elected representatives is miniscule compared to the size of this heavenly government, but still nothing gets done.

One of my biggest frustrations with the WTB&TS (earthly division of the heavenly parent) of late has been its lack of willness to do anything other than preach. This has been partly due to my own personal experience of living in a third world country were I saw at first hand poverty and its effect on health and well being. But it has become abundantly apparent to me that there is just no way that the Society wishes to get involved with any charity or relief work, for example, AIDS relief for the brothers and sisters in . But I guess this is just a reflection its heavenly governmental parent which has done nothing.

Yes, I would agree with your statement question-- that is, if one believes JW's concepts, or other religious teachings as well. There is a great misrepresentation of the creators of the universe. Humans seem to always attempt to "bring things down to the human level". There is no way we can do that without projecting dogma.

We have not been abandoned by our universal mother/father. Simply because things have not occured which we thought would or should, does not mean the universe isn't functioning just the way it was intended.

Find your spiritual connection outside of religion. You will be amazed.

    Very good observation eyeslice:

And all those helpers who have a BIG BOSS, where is God in this picture? Oh, yeah he's resting, sorry I forgot.......

Boy dont' I know it! Try doing a fund raising for a good cause and make the mistake of asking an elder or two to contribute........oy vay! That was a real eyeopener for me!

I'm still struggling with the abandonment issues of a higher power and one who actually cares about us earthlings, and haven't reached a conclusion for myself yet. I do agree with what you say in the bolded part. I guess I'm a bit impatient I hate human suffering and have a hard time looking at the bigger picture. I do realize I need to find a spiritual connection now that I've dumped religion. Just dumping religion has been amazing to me!

Maybe all the things that the heavenly government have accomplished are invisible, just like their presence. They've been invisibly ruling, with their invisible powers, and the invisible effects that they have. It's all just so simple if you make it all invisible.

I wouldn't say it's been doing nothing . Apparently it's been trying to bring peace to the world with preaching and teaching , using people who volunteer but evetually as stated in the bible the world doesn't like it so tries to put an end to it thus forcing a violent overthrow of all man made government . Exactly what were you exspecting ? A space ship come down from outer space demanding world peace ?

Maybe the WTS could modify their private plane.

I think the invisible government gave a small grant to Haiti to explore building a subway system, but the money was misspent and no subway was built.

Here's a picture of a invisible government spaceship exploring a unknown location!

Hey! Be fair! Jehovah has to oversee the inspiration of every article in the Watchtower and Awake, all 32 pages every week! That's a lot of copy for even the most articulate deity to write! I mean, he took 1500 years to write a 1500 page book, which works out to about 1 page a year, so he's not exactly L. Ron Hubbard behind the typewriter, eh?
