'According to M-theory, ours is not the only universe. Instead, M-theory predicts that a great many universes were created out of nothing. Their creation does not require the intervention of some supernatural being or god. Rather, these multiple universes arise naturally from physical law. They are a prediction of science.'

The first time I read something like this it was in a Robert Heinlein science fiction novel about 30 years ago. I knew scientists have been knocking this idea around for many years but I had no idea it is now totally accepted by physicists.

I don't think that's technically correct. From what I've read and seen, many physicists believe the math points firmly in that direction, but there has been no observational evidence confirming these ideas. Until string theory is able to make predictions that are confirmed by observation, these ideas remain firmly in the hypothesis stage.
