I found this picture on the Internet and thought I would share. If nothing else it's a cool picture.
Here is the story of how this was seen:
Origins:
This is a real photograph of the Helix Nebula <http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap000828.html> , although it's technically not a single photograph but rather a composite <http://archive.stsci.edu/hst/helix/observations.html> image formed from several photographs taken by NASA's orbiting Hubble <http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap010806.html> Space Telescope and a land-based telescope at the Kitt Peak <http://www.noao.edu/kpno/> National Observatory near Tucson, Arizona. This image was NASA's "Astronomy Picture of the Day" for 10 May 2003 <http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap030510.html> . The picture's "Eye of God" appellation appears to have been a title coined by an admirer of the photo due to the nebula's resemblance to a human eye, not something designated by NASA.
