Behind the Scenes of "The New World Society"----A Spiritual Paradise?

  In 1954 the Watch Tower Society released a new film,"The New World Society in Action,"which acquainted its "viewers with the magnitude of the Society's organization,its institutions,its field activities,its large - scale conventions, its smooth, efficient functioning and the spirit by which it is moved."

  What its millions of viewers would never see was what went on behind the scenes.What has happened behind the Watch Tower facade, to real people, not just in the past, but in more recent years?Is it a "Spiritual Paradise" as claimed?

  We all know of the way that the Society has treated its own behind the scenes,such men as Edward A.Dunlap,respected registar of the Society's Gilead School.Disfellowedshipped.Raymond V.Franz,Governing Body member,Disfellowedshipped.William and Joan Cetnar,Disfellowedshipped.William H. Bowen ( silent lambs ) Disfellowedshipped.

  However,are you one of the "Nameless Others" who gave twenty, thirty, forty, fifty years and more of your life in devoted service, only to be demeaned in old age because you tired of a non - scriptural agender, or dared question the "anointed oracles" of the "theocractic organization".

  Behind the scenes,Alcoholism is prevelant among staff members, there are the distraught wives of the headquarters staff, immoral behavior, suicides, this is kept hidden from the membership around the world.All of it is documented, yet, under threat of vilification and fear of man, many serve with mute obedience.

  The New World Society in Action, is a facade! Do you as one of the many 'nameless others' have something to add to this brief description of what actually goes on behind the scenes.If you do, just maybe you can help others who post here and those who lurk here too.

  In the"new world society" everyone is a disposible item.Right from Ray Franz down you can see that if you are not 100% with the program you are cast off without a second of thought.The "new world society" reminds me more of the Nazi's more than "God's chosen ones"

  That's right... if you cannot serve THEM, if you cannot contribute something to THEM then they want you out of the way.

  EFFICENCY!!! If you slow them down they will toss you to the side.

  YES I KNOW WHERE OF YOU SPEAK. I WAS BORN INTO THE CULT AND REACHED THE TITLE OF ELDER. DUE TO MANY DISAPPOINTMENTS, I REFUSED TO REMAIN AN ELDER WHEN I MOVED FROM ONE CONG. TO ANOTHER

  THIS HAPPENED OVER A PERIOD OF 43 YEARS. THEN I LOST MY CONFIDENCE IN THE CULT AND BECAME LESS AND LESS ACTIVE. STILL I DID NOT CHALLENGE THE BELIEFS OR THE WBTS LEADERSHIP. EVEN THOUGH THE 1975 DEBACLE CAUSED ME TO WANT OUT. I KEPT MY THOUGHTS TO MYSELF.

  AFTER ANOTHER 10 YEARS, I WAS LOOKED DOWN ON AS A SLACKER AND THE SHUNNING STARTED. IT WAS PLAIN THAT THEY NEEDED ONLY SOME INCIDENT, TO DF ME.

  THIS CAME, WHEN I LEARNED OF MY DAUGHTERS MOLESTATION BY AN ELDER. THE USUAL ACTIONS WERE TAKEN." LET IT DROP", AS PER INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE WBTS. I DID THE UNTHINKABLE, BY TAKING THIS MATTER TO THE POLICE EVEN BEFORE I TALKED TO THE ELDERS ABOUT IT. THIS OF COURSE ,CAUSED THEM TO EVEN MORE, WANT TO PUT ME IN MY PLACE.

  MY ANGER REACHED A STAGE WHERE I COULD NO LONGER PUT UP WITH THIS CRAP. I TOLD THE ELDERS WHO WERE LOOKING INTO THIS MATTER, THAT THEY NEEDED THE S**T KICKED OUT OF THEM. I WAS PROMPTLY DF'D ON THE CHARGE OF HAVING FITS OF RAGE.

  FOR ONCE THEY WERE CORRECT. THE ODD THING, IS THAT THESE ELDERS SEEMED TO TAKE PRIDE AND FELT POWERFUL IN DFING ME AND NONE OF THEM ARE AWARE, THAT THEY THEMSELVES, ARE ONLY A DISAPPOINTMENT OR TWO AWAY, FROM SUFFERING THE SAME FATE FROM OTHER ELDERS, THAT WILL TAKE PRIDE IN DOING THE SAME THING TO THEM.

  NO ONE IS SAFE NOR CAN THEY TRUST THIS CULT AND ITS POWDER PUFF ELDERS AND CO'S AND DO'S. REVELING IN THEIR POSITIONS OF POWER, TO DO EVIL THINGS TO OTHERS.

  ALL OF THEM FEED ON SELF PRIDE AND SEEK RECOGNITION. NOT BASED ON GENUINE ACCOMPLISHMENTS THAT BENEFIT MANKIND OR EVEN OTHER INDIVIDUALS.

  EVERYONE IN THIS CULT HANGS ON A VERY THIN THREAD, THAT KEEPS THEM FROM SUFFERING THE SAME FATE.

  IF MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE WBTS SPIRITUAL PARADISE, IS WHAT ONE WOULD RECEIVE IN THEIR "NEW WORLD", I WANT NO PART OF IT.

  THE REPUTATION OF THIS CULT IS ALL IMPORTANT AND SEEMS TO BE THEIR PRIMARY MOTIVE IN ALL THINGS. THE FURTHER I GOT BEHIND THE "SCENES" THE MORE OBVIOUS CONDUCT COULD BE OBSERVED. ALMOST NONE OF IT WAS KIND, LOVING, HELPFUL, SPIRITUAL, UNDERSTANDING OR HELPFUL..

  THE IGNORANCE AND ARROGANCE OF THE SO CALLED LEADERS WAS OVERWHELMING.

  AS IN ALL THINGS, THERE WAS HERE AND THERE AN EXCEPTION TO THE ABOVE. HOWEVER THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO WERE AN EXCEPTION WERE QUICKLY PUSHED DOWN AND DISCOUNTED.

  AS IS OFTEN THE CASE, THE STRONG WILLED RISE TO THE TOP POSITIONS AND BRING THEIR ARROGANCE WITH THEM.

  ARROGANCE, IGNORANCE AND PERCEIVED POWER AND AUTHORITY ARE A TERRIBLE SITUATION TO FIND ONES SELF UNDER.

  AS AN EXAMPLE OF THE IGNORANCE, ARROGANCE AND STUPIDITY, I WAS IN CHARGE OF THE FIRST AID STATION AT CONVENTIONS. WE HAD A LARGE NUMBER OF ELDERLY WHO HAD HEART PROBLEMS. MY WIFE "EX NOW", WAS AN RN. IT SEEMED SENSIBLE TO US TO PURCHASE A SMALL OXYGEN DELIVERY SYSTEM TO BE USED IN AN EMERGENCY.

  AT THE ELDER/CO'S MEETING I BROUGHT THIS UP. ONE WOULD OF THOUGHT I WANTED TO PURCHASE A FULLY OUTFITTED AMBULANCE. AN ELDER LITERALY SCREAMED "THAT IS SECOND AID, WE ONLY WANT FIRST AID" THE IDIOT CO REPEATED THIS AND IT WAS NOT EVEN CONSIDERED. NOT A ONE OF THE MANY OTHER ELDERS THERE HAD THE GUTS TO EVEN ASK A QUESTION.

  THE IGNORANT AND ARROGANT RULED AGAIN.

  WELL I COULD GO ON, BUT THESE MEMORIES TIRE ME OUT.

  TELL ME ABOUT YOUR BOOK. MAYBE I CAN COUGH UP A FEW MORE EXPERIENCES.

  Know exactly what you mean. The Society likes to paint a 'bed of roses' picture but what happens on the inside is a different picture.

  I have tons of secular management experience but I can tell you by far the worst, most acrimonious meetings I have ever attended have been elder's meeting. Worldly business 'team' meetings would never be allowed to degenerate into such farces (I actually spelt farces, faeces to begin within but may be no such a bad mistake).

  When 'I stepped down' as an elder, I actually said that if the same situation had happen in my job I would have quit and looked for another job. It took, a while but in the end I just left quitely.

  Again, I can fully understand your anger. Many of us have given a life time and in some cases more in terms of peoples' lives and relationships. I guess we have to come to terms with ourselves and find our own inner happiness.

  I have made the same statement many times. I found more courtious people and situations in the business world, than in the jw leadership.

  If the same actions I saw in the jw elders/co meetings, took place in the business world, those people would be terminated the next day.

  Once I really displayed my disgust for the wbts and was df'd, it was amazing how my anger level went down.

  Y'know, if an employer had treated me the way that JC did, they would have had a "workplace incident" and I would probably have only gotten parole...
