I helped Ona come up with some stuff for a legal situation and was so thankful I had not yet thrown mine out...

Don't throw them out.. at the very least there are ones who would pay shipping to add them to their libraries. There are times resources are needed to prove what has been said in print by the WTS.

I myself want to get rid of what I have and just haven't had the time to arrange it (except for what I sent Ona last month)... but I know that there are purposes that could be used for helping others by not just throwing them out...

I have to wonder.. when they are purchased through ebay... wouldn't only apostates be buying them?? I mean wouldn't most just get them from witnesses if they weren't??

I once got chastised in an AOL chatroom for saying that I burned old WTS literature. The person who was ragging on me claimed to be an elder and said things like "You just don't appreciate spiritual food."

I said "Sure I do! Some people like Steak Tartare and other people like it barbeque'd."

He shut up and never bothered me again.

Even though it would be fun to strike a match and watch the conflagration, I know that for some people trapped in the cult only hard copy evidence will convince them.

I do not need to prove anything to anyone so they have no value to me anymore. My family is safe.

I am selling my house and will not have any room for superfluous stuff. But I just want to give everyone on this board first dibs to them.

If I sell them on e-bay They might fall into enemy hands. If you know what I mean?

    Yep, Sassy-assy-frass.***

Loris: I've not the funds to offer, other than to pay for shipping costs.

But, if you so choose to send me this stuff, let me assure you, and anybody else, that this "literature" will eventually find its way into the "loop."

Loris. I understand your situation. I threw most of my literature away a few years ago, some of it circa 1950, then I kicked myself afterwards, when I saw some of it for sale on ebay.

And I kicked myself again when I saw requests on this board, for literature i could have donated for worthy causes.

I'll make far better use of my parent's collection when it becomes available. My dad has a library he inherited from his dad, going back to the "Golden Age" © ® ?

Whatever you do, don't throw that stuff away. It's useful to many people. I'd be happy to take some of it off your hands, for reasons others have explained above.

As for Ebay, it's a good place to sell it. Buyers include JWs, ex-JWs, anti-JWs of various sorts, and people who just like to collect esoteric junk. Some JWs try to buy up stuff that's supposed to be for-JWs-only or for-elders-only, like the semi-secret Elders Manual. If that's a concern, I or others can point to someone who'll find your collection a useful home. This is good because it pisses off the Watchtower drones who read this site.

Here's an offer: Sell them all to me for $10, and I'll sell it to AlanF for $100...and then his wife can kick my ass around the block, and Kate and I will finally have a decent ohhhh-Armageddon-is-around-the-corner retirement account.

After I left the borg, I took every publication I owned, probably 50 plus bound volumes of the Watchtower and Awake, tons of Kingdom Ministries and brochures and loose magazines and at least a 100 other books, some dating well back to Rutherford's early days as WTS President and chucked them all in a dumpster. It was an emotional response to my desire to cleanse myself from all the lies of the WTS. And it felt great. Now I kind of wish I hadn't done it, not because I'd want any of those books, but because a lot of other people (apostate borg researchers) do. Maybe something constructive could have come from someone using the WTS' b.s. publications against them.
