I hate it when you get them on Friday Sally...then you have the dilemma of "do I take them home now or leave there here over the weekend so I can have them at work next week too" my friend was nice enough to send them on Wednesday so I can have them at work a few days before taking them home!

I've done it a couple times; makes her feel all special and she likes how the other girls get envious.

lol BUSTED...I have to admit to enjoying the envious looks you get when flowers are delivered for you. My ex was really sweet and one time when he had roses delivered for me, he sent carnations to all the other women in the office so they wouldn't feel left out....needless to say he was popular at my office after that.

Beautiful story GG, I'm sorry to hear abourtyour husband. I have a statue of a little boy on one knee giving a little girl flowers myself. My ex-in-laws gave it to me for my 12th anniversary. My parents had both died that year and to try and cheer me up my ex for our 12th anniversary sent me flowers every day for 12 days...one rose 12 days before our anniversary...two 11 days before...leading up to a dozen on our anniversary....lol I still have all the vases. We called it the year of the roses....it's a nice memory

Nice shot Six...lol for a minute there I was expecting a pic of flowers shot to pieces

ROFL leo....now I know to let someone else carry my flowers out to the car!

growedup it's been awhile for me too....ticking off customers to get flowers...I need to try that next time I have a dry spell and see if it works...

Sorry to disappont with my non working flowers bebu I did get some non-toiling lilys in the bouquet though...love the way they smell!!

Okay, I'll admit it. I love getting flowers at work. I love knowing I'm being thought about when we're not together, but I also like the envious looks. I KNOW I have a fantastic husband - I'll never take that for granted.

I loved it when I got flowers at work. See everyone? I'm specccial!

Not quite as much fun when you're a SAHM.

I remember sending my then boyfriend/now spouse, a bouquet of long stemmed cookies at work. Eighteen years later, he still has the card I sent with them, in his wallet.

I'm something of the anti-girl when it comes to getting flowers at work. Don't like it a bit. Nothing wrong with it for others obviously, but it's not at all my style. Even when I received flowers from someone I was dating at the time, I have to admit I felt a bit deflated- as if the person giving them to me didn't understand me at all. I hate to sound so ungrateful, as I know that the gesture is very sweet- but in truth, I don't like having them sit on my desk, or carrying them to the car, or having other people feel envious/admire them. It's foreign to me- too apparent, I guess. It actually bothers me a bit, which makes me feel even worse about not appreciating them more. it's just not how I express myself. It's hard to explain- I'm more of a "found a neat stick or leaf in the park that I had to give you" than an FTD mamacita. Now, instead of the bouquet, if a certain someone slipped a snapdragon they plucked from the garden and hid it on my desk where only I could see it- well, I could go for that...

I just threw out some flowers last night... it was kind of depressing all dried up and dead, actually. It made me kinda sad.

Despite all this, I think it's wonderful that other people enjoy receiving flowers at work and I certainly would be happy to stop by someone's desk and admire them (though breathing a quiet sigh of relief that they aren't for me!) Weird, huh?

oh, and by the way Xena, happy birthday!

    Happy Birthday Xena!

I love flowers and would love getting them at work..Only twice in my life have I ever gotten flowers... Once from my first husband after a HUGE fight and he thought the marriage was over (well it nearly was in the end) and the second by a man I was dating . That was a real treat. A dozen roses.. I still have them (dried of course)

Ok Beautiful what's a SAHM?? I think tyydyy still has every card I ever gave him....even now after the divorce...some memories are just to good to throw away no matter what comes later, you know?

Interesting point of view detective, I enjoy seeing other peoples perspectives about things. lol I'm pretty much a girly girl when it comes to stuff like that...

I have gotten the after the fight flowers before too Sassy....I tend to like the "I just sent them cause I love you" ones better, but hey I will take what I can get

I used to hate it when I would mention I would like to get flowers sometime and then got them like the next day...*sigh* they are supposed to think of it themselves, it's not the same when you have to say something...why don't guys get that??????

Thank you for the birthday wishes , my birthday is actually Sunday but my friend wanted me to have time to savor my flowers at work....

I work in an office with a great view and lots and lots of windows!!! Who ever would think I would have flowers delivered to me sitting on a school bus with 25 elementary students waiting for the high schoolers to load? My oldest son has done that many times. Of course it was always after he did something he shouldn't have.....Ha Ha The kids on the bus really teased me about it!
