Yet another article reminding us of the importance to listen to the FDS and read literature written by the WTS

Yes, Odrade, that is because no one can understand the Bible without the FDS. Of course, who are the FDS, all the living JWs on earth who profess to have the calling to go to heaven to reign with Christ. But then no women on earth are allowed to teach, and only the GB are allowed to direct the content of the WT publications, but only those male FDS on the GB on the writing committee explain the Bible. How many people is that three; how old are they; and are they on the writing committee because of they are the best of the worst.

    Good point, Oxnard,

It puzzles me how none of the JWs notice how frequently the WTS uses the FDS line.

I did a search once and found that in the study articles, that scripture is used at least once on an average. That is the only way they can "prove" that only they have been given the authority to speak for God, Jesus, and explain the Bible. This didn?t happen until 1919 according to the WTS, so anything before then is suspect.

    Thanks, dustyb,

I am getting better. Too many things on my plate lately. Hope things are more balanced for you.

    Maverick,

another attempted reinforcement proving the legitimacy of their authority including the Elder Arrangement.

I think it is more of the above. My sources show that the rank and file don?t hop to obey like in the past. Elders are stepping down, few want to step up to the plate, just coast and stay away from difficult responsibilities, and more are fading.

    Yxl,

The arrogance of the GB to actually suggest that God had a hand in writting this shit (and thats exactly what the article is about) makes me weep.

But now we see, don?t we?

    Ascot,

Mom is not that far gone yet.

Then my brother asked me to feed and walk his dog while he's out of town that day so when I told mum about it, i.e. she could go over to his place, sit in front of the fireplace and watch all the extra cable shows he gets, she said: "sure!"

This should really read: "Deliver us from the Elders & FDS!!!!!!! Cathy L.

    Amen, Cathy.

    Wednesday,

It is the frog in the pot of water story.

it has been a gradual thing for most jws. u start out studying the bible and they do mention jesus and jehovah and they slip in the FDS and it is ok. Eventually they stop saying Jesus and jehaovah so much and are always saying FDS. U accept it. Only when u leave and look back can u see it.

"If you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water, he?ll jump out. But if you place a frog into a pot of lukewarm water and slowly turn up the heat, it will boil to death.

    Pistoff

, you should get those pen radios with little ear plugs and listen to the sports games.

    Cultie thought of the lesson:
"Satan would like to stop our witnessing work, and by means of his agents on earth--whether religious, commercial or political--he tries to intimidate us." I wonder how many witnesses will reflect on this, and try to identify which of their business contacts, senators or local religious charities are the henchmen of Satan.

Hahahaha, I thought the same thing. The JWs think they are the center of the universe. I used to think that and then someone said, "What?s the Watchtower." "I?ve never met Jehovah?s Witnesses before." "What do they believe?" From territories that have been worked every six months for the last 85 years. Duh!

Interesting..... they frequently edit scriptures to snippets, but just as frequently quote their earlier WT articles in whole sentences, verbatim....

Yes, Room 215, the WTS knows that the rank and file won't be looking up the scriptures. So they use snippets. This wasn't always the case. In the 50's, 60's and 70's whole paragraphs in the WT study article would be quote scripture. In 2004, if one scripture is quoted in its entirety in the whole article, it is remarkable. Mostly snippets, citations prevail.

I am a recent fader but even then I realized that when JWs played Bible trivia or Bible games, how little they knew about the Bible. It was embarrassing.
