What a sicko i guess more information will come to light soon.
Im an SDA and would like to clear a few things.
Wednesday SDAs do have elders at the church I go to we have a lady elder an elderet I suppose. They are voted in by the church.
Over the elders in the minister who is a full time employee of the church.
Ive never heard of anyone haveing to confess to elders or ministers .
SDAs celebrate all holidays some have xmas trees in the church
From 2000 no adventists have been disfellowshiped the practice was voted out at the general conference session held that year in Toronto that year.
SDAs beleive in the second comming of christ when the faithfull will be taken to heaven to reign 1000 years; the earth will be renewed and will be made into a paradise
Beleifs similar to the JWs are soul sleep , similarities in profetic interpretations including the day year principle, and some SDA are Arian just as the JWs beleive but the majority beleive the Trinity doctrine.
I would describe Adventists as very legalistic but certainly not heavy handed.
Of couse there are many varities of Adventists eg my Dad an elder has differing beleifs to me and my Uncle has different beleifs to both of us and that is in the mainstream group.

Isn't it about time that all religons just be banned in this world? If its not the Muslims killing people, its Catholic priests raping whats left over, con men ripping off people. I am getting to the point that I hate religon and what it stands for. Why can;t people just read whatever they want to read in the privacy of thier homes and pray to who they want to pray to.

I saw the news report on this. Apparently the mother of the children, outside, just broken and sobbing and being held up by investigators.
There are lots of sick minds in this world and they deserve to be held accountable. Death penalties= less jails, less tax for maintenance and appeals, less chance of escape.

This guy certainly sounds Whacko to me.
newspaper says. " murdering nine of his family members apparently was involved in polgamy and incest, fathering two of the victims with his own daughters, police said Saturday.
"Bodies of 6 females and three males, ages one to 24"
"there also was mention that it may be some type of ritual killing."..because it took investigators hours and hours to reach a final count of dead bodies because the bodies were so entangled in a pile of clothing"
Just horrible.

Further to Forty's comments re religion - How many people are helped by religion and put back on the rails so that they do not commit crimes anymore ? Of course that does not make headlines. There are fruitcakes in every walk of life , sadly . This tragedy might not have anything to do with his beliefs
