EIGHT, I never get 8 hours straight through, always waking for that one time water release in the middle of the night.
How much sleep do you need?

I get about 5 1/2 hours a night during the week, and I try to get 8 on weekends. 2 meals a day is average for me.

About 6 to 6 1/2 hours will do me, although I would sleep in longer if I allowed myself.
Incidentally there was an interesting set of articles in the Feb 8th Awake (Seriously!) that explained the need for the deeper REM sleep periods. At least it was new to me.

I need about 7...at least to fuction as a human......sleep for me is always broken...due to pain...I do make up for lost sleep on the weekends though...I often take little cat-naps in the middle of the day ( usally on the floor)

I usually wake up every night. Sometimes I can't fall back asleep for an hour or two....
I hate that.. but I have learned to live with it..
If I have a night though of only two or three hours sleep, the next night I try to get 8 hours in....

I need 5 or 6 good hours. I'd enjoy 8, but I can rarely sleep before 11 and I like to get up at least by 6.
When I was in college and working a part-time night job, I got by on 4 hours and once a week my schedule of meetings, school and work required that I go 36 hours straight with no sleep. I usually made some of it up on the weekend, but I survived for about a year on that schedule.

I can get by for a while on 5, but work better on 7.
When I went to the Floridian Freedom Fest, last year I managed 10 hours in 5 days. That was kinda a record for me, so I apologise if I was a bit of a zombie, when there!!!

i can get by with 12 hours of sleep every 3 days. i can stay up for long periods of time, but it takes its toll. when i go to sleep, i'm usually hammered for a good 10 hours because i don't sleep for long times....

Don't usually sleep until 2 or 3am, so I have around 5 hours...but weekends I sleep in a bit longer.Should try to go earlier-i'm sure it's better for you to get the full 8 hours..

its scientifically proven that getting 8 hours of sleep helps you think of better solutions for your problems, and it also helps improve your immune system and many other things. i think thats why i'm always sick and stupid =D
