If so, then works and working hard as you put it are immaterial. Naturally the christian will be showing works, but NOT to earn salvation. That's already his/her possession

Ozzie......you MUST REALISE.......Jehovah isn't giving out any everlasting life for slackers! We MUST at least be up with the national average to even get through armageddons door.....if we can sqeeze in.

Scholar and other idiots insist on being good workers or Jehovah won't like you. He has no intrest in how much you believe in or follow his son.......only placing magazines and working. Christians EARN their way in.....doncha know? Pioneers will be the first to step foot on paradise earth cuz they WORK the hardest. Work work work!!!!...........that what their precious god loves cuz he's a workaholic.......cept on sundays!

    Ohhhh, I see!!!!!

Don't know about that "except on Sundays" bit though. The WTS have maintained an emphasis on Sunday being the "main day" of the week for field service. Groan!!

Wiil then pioneers get to live ten times longer; er, make that seven times longer (or have seven times as much fun), than your run-of-the-mill 10-hour-a-month ``publisher?"

I have an idea! Pioneers will be given preferential treatment in "the new system" at the newly establsihed schools so's they can catch up on all the 'further education' they missed out on!

Scholar, does it ever occur to you that the introduction of chronology in the process of divining the Divine Mind and His timetable has been an exercise in futility since its inception? Name one successful attempt, whether by the WTBTS or anyone else.

Russell, Armstong, Rutherford, Franz, et al, each in turn armed impressively with charts, graphs and interlocking scriptures and signs, have all argued eloquently and compellingly for certain dates and pre-timed events-- only to have their speculations fall to the ground unfulfilled.

But very eloquently put, Roomie. You've got it in one!

Hey Oz, they sure had me beguiled for a longer time than I care to think about!

Then our greek/hebrew scholar, icon, oracle of god came along and figured a way to make it work and make it believable without needing physical "proof". He made everything SPIRITUAL. A spiritual presence of Jesus, a spiritual paradise, and a host of other things that needed no material proof because all freddies proofs were invisible.........and that was to be GOOD ENOUGH! Believe it, or we'll kick your ass out!!!!!! Period!!!!!!!!!!

salvation does not rest on dates but by following Jehovah's revealed chronology,

Scholar - again you make statements that are clearly not what Jesus taught. The best response I can give you is from the word itself:

For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:9)

Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. (2 Timothy 2:10)

and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:15)

We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are. (Acts 15:11)

They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved?you and your household. (Acts 16:31)

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

who has saved us and called us to a holy life?not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time (2 Timothy 1:9)

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies (John 11:25)

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6)

But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:31

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17)

Clearly salvation comes through Jesus. Scholar - show me the scriptures that say salvation comes through someone or something other than Jesus - more to the point - show me the scriptures that say salvation comes through the 144,00.

DB, I thought for a moment you were taking over Blondie's job. As Blondie said, she'll be covering it this week, stay tuned. I prefer Blondie's version, sorry.
