I understand at least why you would do such an insanely drastic thing as start an entire thread. My eyes have been opened.

As to "Philo" and the words used, they offended me, and I am not easily offended. Philo's attack (for it can be called by no other name) was undeserved, and completely unasked for. Moreso, it was cowardly and petty.

This thread was begun with a light-hearted request to discuss Life, the Universe, and Everything -- an excellent book by an extremely talented author, may Doug rest in peace-- and it has been sullied.

Alan, Philo, I am gravely disappointed in your unwarranted attacks on a woman that clearly was trying to make a place where she could be accepted.

That does not necessarily mean that I have accepted Ms. Mayhem's concepts of reality. It merely means that she and I have agreed to disagree.

Your mere asking that question shows that you don't have the mental horsepower to understand the answer. But I'll try. People who don't have a sense of humor in general also don't know how to laugh at themselves. They take things too seriously in general. They don't seem to have the faculty for critical evaluation of whether something is real or unreal, so they tend to accept everything as real. Humor is largely based on understanding that certain situations or statements are unreal and that the apparent attempt to pose such unreality as reality is the basis for much humor.

Let me give you an example. I'll use short sentences. Yesterday I had to drive my 16-year-old daughter to a friend's house. She likes cats. A cat was sitting in the driveway. As I pulled in, it ran away when the car was only a few feet away. My daughter said, "Wow! She barely got away." I said, "Too bad. Would've made a nice dinner tonight." She rolled her eyes. Do you understand the joke?

I really MUST applaud your stunning example of cowardice. The way you posted AFTER Suzi Mayhem's account was listed as inactive was sheer brilliance, that way she couldn't respond to your biting words that were inspired by what? Lack of response, so it would seem as if you were right? Do you often feel the urge to hit women while they are being held by the gang? Or is it just the bully in you trying to make a girl cry?

The names! I haven't seen anything so clever since boys in high school. DO go on, darling. You must really be in love to say such things and follow Suzi wherever she goes. You truly are dedicated to her words for one who hates her so much. One could even call it STALKING if one were so inclined.
