SaintSatan had a good suggestion as to the letter; Scully also, I'd love to see their faces at Brooklyn if they received a thank you card on behalf of Ray Franz.

Just to clarify, They cannot keep the funds because the "conditional donation" arrangement requires the donation to be at least $5000. We made a nice size donation years ago but since thought we had received it all back. What they want to return is what is left, which I'm sure is far below $5000. We are probably not talking about that much money. Just amusing that they are willing to dealing with us at all. Probably need to cross all 't's and dot all 'i's to stay out of tax trouble. Scooby,

thanks for my chuckle for today.

Obvious that the WTS is concerned for legal and tax issues.

My 2 cents.....take the money....and don't donate it to Franz. Take the money---it is yours---you have certainly earned it ( do you receive interest on it?)

If you must contribute it; find a real charity that will do some good for chidren; there are some out there.

Well, before sending a check or whatever for a good chunk of change it is responsible to ask for a confirmation of address. If they didn't recieve it and Steve and Joy never asked for it back then it wouldn';t matter anyway. They could get in a load of crap for using something like this for WTBTS mischief...Steve and Joy are already disfellowshiped so it doesn't matter anyway. IMO...I think giving it to Ray would be a great idea. Maybe help him have some joy and pleasantness in his remaining days.
