    Do you have any favourite scriptures you use to refute JWs, or at least tick them off !

    I have a couple I like:

    Re the WTBTS false prophecies:

    Duet. 18:21?You may be wondering among yourselves, "How can we tell the difference, whether it was GOD who spoke or not?" Here's how: 22If what the prophet spoke in GOD's name doesn't happen, then obviously GOD wasn't behind it; the prophet made it up. Forget about him. (MSG) (gotta love that version)

    And the answer to the question "Why don't you go the KH anymore?" "I figured out who the WTBTS really is"....

    Matthew 24:15?So when you see the appalling sacrilege [the abomination that astonishes and makes desolate], spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the Holy Place--let the reader take notice and [7] ponder and consider and heed [this]--(1)
    16Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains;
    17Let him who is on the housetop not come down and go into the house to take anything;
    18And let him who is in the field not turn back to get his overcoat.
    19And alas for the women who are pregnant and for those who have nursing babies in those days!
    20Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. (AMP)

    Anybody else Have any favourites?

    Thanks.... I've never been a dub, but I'll sure use those scriptures you listed when I get in another argument conversation with my dub friend.

    Ecclesiastes 12:12, (b)

    "My son take a warning: to the making of many books there is no end, and much devotion to them is wearisome to the flesh."

    What other religion is so "taken" with the making of so MANY books, and expecting the members to read each and every one of them; AND builds up the "looking forward to" and anticipation at coming District Conventions as to what NEW publication will be issued...how MANY books are the JWs expected to put into their "own personal library"? (Ka-Ching!)

    Deuteronomy 23:19, 20 (a)

    "You must not make your brother pay interest; interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything on which one may claim interest. You may make a foreigner pay interest but your brother you must not make pay interest."

    Tell THIS to a JW when you hear of the Society lending money to build a KH, (from the donations sent BY the brotherhood FOR that purpose) and the expecting to pay BACK the loan WITH INTEREST! (Do YOU hear the Ka-Ching sound again?)

    These two scriptures have generated LOTS of discussion on other JW boards, with all KINDS of weasel-word excuses and (cough) explanations to dispute them! (Heehee)

    When I read your question I immediately thought of Deut 18.21,22 and there you've got it right there.

    Brilliant!

    Regarding the child sexual abuse issue - sacrificing the innocence of children to perverse sexual appetites:

    Jeremiah 7:29-31

    "Shear off your uncut hair and throw [it] away, and upon the bare hills raise a dirge, for Jehovah has rejected and will desert the generation with which he is furious. 'For the sons of Judah have done what is bad in my eyes,' is the utterance of Jehovah. 'They have set their disgusting things in the house upon which my name has been called, in order to defile it. And they have built the high places of To'pheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hin'nom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart.'"

    Jeremiah 19:3-5

    "And you must say, 'Hear the word of Jehovah, O you kings of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem. This is what Jehovah of armies, the God of Israel has said: "Here I am bringing a calamity upon this place, of which when anyone hears, his ears will tingle; for the reason that they have left me and have proceeded to make this place unrecognizable and to make sacrificial smoke in it to other gods whom they had not known, they and their forefathers and the kings of Judah; and they have filled this place with the blood of the innocent ones. And they built the high places of the Ba'al in order to burn their sons in the fire as whole burnt offerings to the Ba'al, something that I had not commanded or spoken of, and that had not come up into my heart." Rev. 22:18: "I testify to every one who hears the words of this book, If any one shall add to these things, God shall add to him the plagues which are written in this book."

    Watchtower has added so much new light and so many contradictions that the plagues about to hit it should make the plagues of Egypt seem nothing more than a bit of a nuisance!

    1:6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are following a different gospel? 1:7 not that there really is another gospel, but there are some who are disturbing you and wanting to distort the gospel of Christ. 1:8 But even if we (or an angel from heaven) should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be condemned to hell! 1:9 As we have said before, and now I say again, if any one is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be condemned to hell! 1:10 Am I now trying to gain the approval of people, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ!

    You can surely use a lot of arguments using the many scriptures in this thread:

    Mark 13:7 - Moreover when you hear of wars and reports of wars, do not be terrified; these things must take place, but the end is not yet.

    In other words "this is NOT a sign". Mark 13: 5 says "Look out that nobody misleads you."

    Matthew 16:18-19 / Isaiah 22:22

    "And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

    "And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David; he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open."
