Logan, Good point, HOWEVER, your contribution by your presence is greater than your need to set all aside. I'd long left the borg behind, over 45 years, when I discovered JWD. I only participated as a form of pleasant repartee and friendly exchange. It wasn't until I recieved a hand full of PMs thanking me for my comments, sarcasm included, that I realized that newbies are really, really, in need of some of us old farts. We think we can walk away from that? NOT! You can become more and more detached from the effects of the cult, but that doesn't mean you are not needed and wanted...
Warm fuzzies to ya,
carm
Hmm, yeah, I used to post on here almost constantly ("witness" the post count...geesh), but nowadays I rarely post. I mainly visit this site every now and then for interesting news about the ongoing struggle against the Tower.
oops on last post!
logansrun:
This poem is said to capture that moment when you dare to take your heart in your hands and walk through an invisible wall into a new life:
THE JOURNEY by Mary Oliver
One day you finally knew what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you kept shouting their bad advice -
though the whole house began to tremble
and you felt the old tug at your ankles,
"Mend my life!" each voice cried.
But you didn't stop. You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried with it's stiff fingers
at the very foundations, though their melancholy was terrible.
It was already late enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen branches and stones.
But, little by little, as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly recognized as your own,
that kept you company as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world, determined to do
the only thing you could do-
determined to save
the only life that you could save.

Just make sure that you practice safe work.

I have moved way up the street past all of this......... 12 years and counting.........
But I must say this forum has been of great help to my wife, who has just left the org. a few months ago.
I can see much help here for those who have just left or are considering a departure from the JW's.
Good Job Gang,
Keepup the Good Work!
