Are the bloodcards being replaced?

It is well known among those here, that there were no blood cards issued this year. For the first time in years, it is now no longer necessary to wait an extra half hour after the meeting to get an elder and a friend to sign it.

At the book study this week, the book study overseer said that we will have to renew our DPI forms (I think that's the right abbreviation) and that we would prayfully consider our options on use of non blood treatments.

Is this the way things are going? If there are no bloodcards for a 2nd year in a row, what will this mean?

The WT saved more money yet again...what do you expect from a publishing company.

Healthcare proxies (power of attorneys), etc., are better documents legally anyway.

I'm glad to hear the Big Brother hanging over your shoulder technique has gone by the wayside. I used to miss that Tuesday night on purpose but found out the book study overseer had a list to account for. I just told him we signed it at a friend's house.

Once again the WTS treated the rank and file like children.

Didn' they have witnesses who owned businesses that sold useless items for witnesses that went around your wrist like a cheap silver chain that said "
    no blood!"

Also they sold "Not and home" slip holders carved out of sheet metal and field service bags and assortments of highlighters in rainbows of colours!

    What a rip off!

Ha, ha, yes they did, and I use to have one of the sheet metal not at home slip holders. There was a brother in Tijuana, BC that made service book bags just for JW's.

This is interesting. If there are no blood cards what is one expected to carry on one's person? Why the change?

Good question (and theory!), but the answer's far more interesting...

It sounds like there has been a situation similar to that over the release of the Commentary on the Letter of James book (In Search of Christian Freedom, pp 181-185, etc.) where there was a last-minute change of heart by the hard-liners on the GB against a changing policy.

Any Brooklyn moles out there willing to fill us in?

Here's another change of "policy" that maybe would have saved thousands of lives. Not Bibilical policy but Watchtower policy.

I know though that all these thousands that died being faithful to society policy will be resurrected per bible policy.!

Now, how about those who didn't go to college, didn't have children, didn't get married, didn't save for retirements, never had material things, etc, etc, etc...................

    Its very sad.....................

    This is interesting.

Any other thoughts about where this is going?

Is the WTS going to continue to water down the blood issue until it becomes a non-issue, say...

...like the oral sex policy; "Don't ask, don't tell"?
