Hide your kids, cover your wives, and put away your passion for jesus, here come the debil. Um, ok where wuz i? Oh yah, they are making a movie about aliester crowley later this yr. Here are some excerpts of the blurb.

SANTA MONICA , Ca (Market Wire) - Michael Schrager of The Dominion Entertainment Group and Patricia Baker of The Big Picture Agency LLC have teamed to bring "Aleister Crowley: Revolt of the Magicians," the spellbinding screenplay based on the life of Aleister Crowley, to the big screen. The screenplay of the occult world's most controversial figure is written by internationally renown occult author and Crowley expert, Lon DuQuette, and Jim Bratkowsky of Cinemagic.
Crowley's character was enhanced by the company he kept -- Bram Stoker, William Butler Yeats and actress Florence Farr, to name a few. Aleister is also listed as one of the "Top 100 Brits," sandwiched between Robert Bruce and Henry V, however, newspapers of the time called him 'the wickedest man in the world.'
Aleister was born into a family of Plymouth Brethren, a strict Christian sect in Leamington Spa, England. During his 72 earthly years, (1875 - 1947), he indelibly imprinted himself on the Western Magickal Tradition and to many, he was the Western Magickal Tradition. "Choosing which part of his life story to tell was the most challenging part of this project.
"Aleister's legacy attracts many new converts to the Occult even today,"

'Course these things are sometimes postponed or even shelved.

He had an interesting life: born rich, he spent all in the exploration of occult spirituality, sex, drugs (no rock and roll back then). He put together a book on egyptian astrology that is supposed to contain some very nice art. Some people still follow his book of the law. One of his associates, parsons, was a rocket propulsion wiz, working for the american govt. Another associate, l ron hubbard wrote tons of science fiction, then turned sf into a money making religion.

HA! This has the potential to be quite amusing!

Crowley was a master manipulator, and I would bet that there is no shortage in today's society of persons who make Crowley's "wickedness" pale by comparison.

One thing I will give Crowley - he was completely unabashed in his revelry. Maybe that is what make him so "wicked" to the hypocritical pansy Victorians of his time.

Interesting. Lots of modern Pagan (I guess especially the Wiccans) folk refer to him as "wierd uncle Al"...not completely disassociating (not in the JW sense) themselves from him, but still distancing a bit, what they do and believe, from what he advocated. Bet he'd have been on Fox's "Mad, Mad House"!!

Good alternate title, but i thought it had been fairly used already. No no, i like it. There, it's changed. I read that when a lady asked him to do a magic trick, he took a dump in her living room.

He spent a night in the dark in the big pyramid w his girlfriend. Claims he made blue light appear. That could be a wierd movie scene.

His 'church' still exists, oto. I read a story of someone who was intiated recently, and she was very happy there.

Yes, I know. I should have been more clear. Not all Pagans or Wiccans are members of the OTO. Those are the ones I was referring to. But the OTO is still around, and he was the founder.

I'm sorry i didn't make it clear, but i did understand that you were not implying that wiccans were necesarily part of his oto. So, no problem.

Hideous character - it doesn't surprise me at all that this twisted world vomits a movie out.

I wonder if they will include the scene where he tries to unleash a demon from the abyss whilst performing anal sex with one of his male cohorts in a desert?

Or maybe a trip to France to that lovely picturesque chateauex where all sorts of loving acts were performed infront of children.

Definitely a film for the kids eh?
